We could do with a meltdown thread where the azzy wazzy gang can tell us about things in a passive aggressive manor.
Anyway, for what its worth I don't think we will get relegated and think we will be okay comfortably (the wonderful world of spending power will save us,*) and to coin some bullshit management phrases its good to make mistakes if you learn from them.
Lets just don't do it again next season eh fellas.

Just for St Crispin's Day:

In summary...any player who forgets that his allegiance should be to the fans, not the club owner, or the manager, and especially not the [SwearFilter] agents can pretty much just do one and we will be fine without you. It'll make it harder but you [SwearFilter] will be remembered as the ones who turned your backs on us.
I wanted to add the picture of Jonah, Higgins, Foster and Johnston who proved that some footballers do know the value of respecting the support when they stayed in our moment of crisis, but I can't find it.

When the going got tough those boys knew what to do. Top Class. Stood behind Ray Wilkie for years. Best education I ever had.

We are not going to find any better midfielders for 10K than Harvey in this league so as for serious decisions someone please persuade him to battle for the club he loves

If he loved the club (that kept taking him back - despite some average seasons) he wouldn't be wanting away would he?thedon1969 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2017 9:10 pm We are not going to find any better midfielders for 10K than Harvey in this league so as for serious decisions someone please persuade him to battle for the club he loves
There'll be others out there who are better and don't even cost (Gomis this season alone) I think he's improved over the years, but he's definitely replaceable.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Are you serious? Club he loves? He would have left us years ago if anyone had made a decent offer for him. Only returned when they didn't.Paul wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 7:24 am+1thedon1969 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2017 9:10 pm We are not going to find any better midfielders for 10K than Harvey in this league so as for serious decisions someone please persuade him to battle for the club he loves

Jones, Higgins Foster & Johnston..REAL FOOTBALLERS!
Re: Time to get serious
Don't try and act like any player at this level or any level outside of your Lampards, Gerrard's and Tottis love the club they play for. They go where they can make the most money and why shouldn't they? Football is a short career.spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 7:39 amIf he loved the club (that kept taking him back - despite some average seasons) he wouldn't be wanting away would he?thedon1969 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2017 9:10 pm We are not going to find any better midfielders for 10K than Harvey in this league so as for serious decisions someone please persuade him to battle for the club he loves

Re: Time to get serious
well paid short careers.. you are right though and its a shame! No loyalty in the game no more and Barrow will be used as a platform for generations to come.. its just how it is. Thing that's [SwearFilter] me off is how a so called reputable agent went and did what he did.. just a shit stirring arse wipe who needs to be punished. Ive nowt against arh an I bet he isnt happy how things unfolded and if I were him, I would be tweeting what a complete tosser his agent is2014Club wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 9:06 amDon't try and act like any player at this level or any level outside of your Lampards, Gerrard's and Tottis love the club they play for. Re: Time to get serious
Is the alleged behaviour from the agent punishable by the FA? IMO it's up there with tapping up, he's (allegedly) basically flouted that his client wanted away and was available. Depending which side of he fence you're on it's a clever/sneaky ploy. I can't see Paul Cox being an angel in this either; there were a few clubs who complained about his methods to try and bring players in (Matt Rhead is the one that springs to mind).
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.
If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

Re: Time to get serious
Agents earn a cut each time a client moves, as does the client I assume, so it is in their interests to stir things up and keep clients moving. It is a unfortunate part of football life these days. Perhaps Jones, Johnson et al did not have agents so were more loyal?
Re: Time to get serious
Always remember Dave Bayliss saying he wouldn't touch a player that had an agent. I know times have changed since then but it's a statement that tells its own story.Jim wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 9:43 am Agents earn a cut each time a client moves, as does the client I assume, so it is in their interests to stir things up and keep clients moving.
