The negative comments probably come from Gillingham fans - he has a good record in this league and very experienced exciting new era ( if true of course )

Every available manager has likely just been sacked from somewhere else, ergo, fans of that club will say he's trash. You will NEVER get an experienced manager who hasn't had a couple of poor gigs. If it is Pennock then good luck to him - he did well at FGR and hopefully, he'll do well at Barrow.

Was Tony Pulis' number 2 for a long time. My friend who's a Stoke Season Ticket holder speaks very highly of him. (Even though that was quite a long time ago).

Has there ever been a manager anywhere that has managed to get through his career without any negative comments? The new manager, whoever it is, will play a brand of football that some people don't like, pick players that some fans think are useless, leave out players that some fans think are great, say things to the media that some fans don't like and generally please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, before eventually being sacked for under performance or resigning for a better offer.

Gillingham and for some bizarre reason Gloucester City fans, Alan Alger and liked bya few folk who used to support Barrow and inhabit the Twittersphere.

REcord is fine, not jumping up and down but a decent appointment

It's good that our owner has not met his Waterloo. Instead the club have searched long and hard to bring in a high calibre manager that will hopefully excite many of the supporters and will soon hopefully have the players feeling like they were Björn again!!

Let's hope this manager has enough common sense to ignore the advances of that amateurish [SwearFilter] of an 'agent' #bornw@nker
