Kings Lynn are pretty [SwearFilter] off. Sounds like he's been 'tapped up' to me. He's told them he is leaving, but the seven days hasn't expired.
Grant Holt

Re: Grant Holt
Kings Lynne reportedly were given notice on Monday. One would be naive to think that there was no communication between Holt and Barrow before that. However, who is to say that it was not his agent who first made contact with Barrow, sensing a better deal for his client.
Have our 'alleged' seven transfer requests suddenly come into seven players' heads without any of them having any idea where they might go

Re: Grant Holt
This, can't wait to see him in a Barrow short and watched him give a decent Aberdeen defence a hard time this time last year, so he's still got it for this level easily. However, it's the start of his coaching career and it's what he'll do with others off the park and how it could lift the town in general really excites me too.Bluebarrowman wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2017 9:45 amHe can certainly help make the strikers at the club better players especially the younger ones like Yuosuff,White and Harry P with his knowledge and experience.BoltonBlue wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2017 8:56 am Fantastic to have Grant back at the club that kickstarted his impressive career, what he’ll have left in the tank for this level remains to be seen but of corse brings a wealth of experience to pass on to the current squad/future squads.
Credit to the club for this one, add to that the open training session for kids earlier in the week. Realy hope similar things continue.
Also he has crested a feel good factor already and he isn't here yet.
Lots of fans wanted him in as manager but to me this allows him to learn his trade in management alongside an experienced head in Pennock.
After the last few months it's great to have positivity back.
Re: Grant Holt
Jim,I wasn't saying that there SHOULD be a backlash against the Cassons (the opposite in fact) but given the way many of the threads have gone on here recently I'm suggesting there WOULD be one.Jim wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2017 8:52 amThe club management seem to have done things by the book. The leak apparently came from Kings Lynn. The club statement only came in response to that leak. I cannot understand why any backlash should happen against the Cassons or the club in general.SKIPPER wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2017 11:25 pm If this is correct, fantastic. However until I see official confirmation it has all the hallmarks of another PR disaster and if it doesn't come off the sh1t really will hit every fan on the Casson ranch, though it clearly wouldn't be their fault. As I read it at the moment we have given Kings Lynn seven days notice of approach and nothing else. From there someone has picked it up and run with it.Don't get me wrong, this has the potential to be our 'Dave and Daz' moment and propel us on a good run,but the backlash if it doesn't happen will be merciless.
Re: Grant Holt
Yes, I am sure you are right about that! Sorry I misinterpreted your comment.
Re: Grant Holt
It sounds to me that contact was made with Kings Lynn on Monday but formal notice wasn't given until Thursday. So we might have to wait a few more days yet for confirmation. Exciting times non the less.Jim wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2017 11:03 amKings Lynne reportedly were given notice on Monday. Can't we just enjoy the moment without looking for the what if's and maybe's.
We haven't had a lot to cheer about this season so let's just make the most of some good news.

Great signing if it comes off for the bums on seats factor. Club seem to be turning a corner.

Aye, very good.
The Trust is going to offer some free tickets to families who might need it to back up the great initiatives from the club. I'm going to drag along some family as well, fingers crossed the team rise to it and Holty is on hand, even if just to wave from the bench!

I’m surprised your Axe isn’t sharp enough already with all that grinding, It’s been a very positive week, Leave the Agenda alone for a wee while please.
Re: Grant Holt
Think getting holt on board will be the best signing of the season on many different levels. On the pitch bringing a wealth of experience, and then off it hes really someone too look up to for the younger lads and can already improve the strikers we have. Signing someone like that can really help improve the bond between the club and community and work in our favour. Feeling really postive at the moment probably for the first time this season!
