Re: MATCH DAY HOSPITALITY
All that would have been fine if sufficient people had been attracted to the new model that was proposed, which was to make the corporate more family and business orientated, offer a better product and make a better profit, no doubt. But people weren't, which doesn't make them freeloaders or drunkards
, as it was quite a wide spectrum of people that disagreed, some with businesses backgrounds, some professional (not that it matters who is who). I said all this to PC at the time at the first of the many 'Meet the' nights, he said wait and see, which was fine.
The unwise ' 5 can ban' coupled with the raise, when leaving it would have evened drinks out anyway at about 6-7 cans (so put people offside for the sake of just over a quid) said 'we don't want your sort' in here' ...which of course you didn't, again, which is understandable and fine. But don't turn round and imply that failing to get on board with the changes shows a lack of support for the club. or people 'taking money out of the club' .
You needed 'new' customers to make it work and no doubt what happened on the pitch didn't help. I would have been pleased if it had because it would have meant the club was successful.
Good luck and Merry Christmas to all.

Re: MATCH DAY HOSPITALITY
Ultimately the corporate package was flawed as it just wasn't bringing in enough bums on seats. It has rightly been reviewed and remarketed to reach out to a greater audience at what I would call a fair price. Ok it's not the can fest some wanted (six drinks would be fair) but I think our club was in a minority of one with such a deal. I just hope people get behind it and at least give it a go and judge it on the whole new experience!!

Re: MATCH DAY HOSPITALITY
That’s fine then! I tried my best. Wasn’t good enough as we all know. So no profit now but more bums on seats and Georgia looking after it all on her own so longer to set up etc........Great business model and not comparable to other teams at the clubs level or the future vision regardless of the on the pitch activity.

But every one’s an expert on these matters. Think I’ll just go become a brain surgeon cos I watched Holby City last week!
Just because you’ve been going to watch football for years doesn’t make you an expert!!! And not one business ever complained to me.....door was always open as you all know. I never shyed away from being visible at all occasions. Hmmmmm......

Re: MATCH DAY HOSPITALITY
Surely a small profit and seeing happy smiley faces out there is better than no profit at all.
When the club don't get it right people are rightly criticised, maybe not always the right people.
But when they realise a mistake and try to make amends then praise is surely not out of order.

Re: MATCH DAY HOSPITALITY
The way of working out how much the club make or lose though is wrong - based on selling price not cost price
If someone new comes to the football who wouldn't normally come that doesn't cost the club anything
A programme is only worth £2.50 if it would otherwise be sold

Damn.....that’s where I’ve been going wrong for the last 20 years....working things out with the sale price and not the cost price.....bugger!
Anyway......numbers in hospitality were doing ok and the figures added up until about 7 weeks ago.....

Merry Christmas

Re: MATCH DAY HOSPITALITY
Most clubs hospitality options would include a table overlooking the pitch and/or premium seats. You shouldn’t expect people to pay a fortune for a meal and a few cans then trail in the cold and rain to a bird shit covered seat

Re: MATCH DAY HOSPITALITY
I've been fortunate enough to be treated to corporate hospitality at various major stadia, including Wembley (new), The Oval, and Lord's. At Lord's the guest accommodation was an executive box with it's own private balcony, whilst at the other venues pre- and post-match facilities were in a shared (with other parties) dining room with viewing from reserved seats in a public stand.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2017 12:25 pm Most clubs hospitality options would include a table overlooking the pitch and/or premium seats. The latter offering is not too far removed from the Holker Street offering, albeit on a larger scale. Yes, the facilities were better, but they were purpose built; neither the Crossbar building nor the Brian Arrowsmith stand were designed with hospitality in mind and the club has to make do with what it has. Until the ground is rebuilt, that is.
As to the relative costs at the three venues mentioned compared with Holker Street, obviously it was higher, but how high I cannot say - I wasn't paying!
Re: MATCH DAY HOSPITALITY
We used to use the hospitality a couple of times a year with mates but we have now stopped supporting it due to the 5 can limit.
Most of us actually drink fewer than five cans, so the club is losing out.
We don't go now because of the principle of the 5 can limit not the limit itself.

A run a successful business. You don't start high (£) You start low. Then build from there and increase prices over time once that model fits. That's not rocket science.Summerof76 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2017 10:39 am That’s fine then! I tried my best. Wasn’t good enough as we all know.
