Quite a few bulbs have blown since the lights were installed.
Not really what you would expect from a new installation.
The 10,000 hour LEDs in my kitchen blow every 3 or 4 months, they must have got the bulbs from ASDA. ;)
I heard that some staff or volunteers were at the ground on Christmas Day checking that the lights were working.
Andrew, Paul and myself were there on Christmas Eve morning Jim. We asked for advice off Whitty 1969 (who very kindly came out only hours after getting back off holiday) and after an hour or so decided it needed an electrical contractor to look into it. The club got these out in the afternoon and the problem was fixed well enough to allow the game to go ahead yesterday. The issue on Christmas Eve didn't affect the floodlights (or large areas of the ground) so it looks like the lights under the main stand were unconnected to the original problem.
The electrical contractors will be called out again to see what's going on with the main stand lights.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

I see the Wrexham manager has been having a go at the behaviour of the Barrow players in "gorging out" one of his players eyes.

First boxing day game I've missed in years so can't comment on the game. As for the kids with the flag etc, isn't good is it in poor taste they need to know what is acceptable banter.

He also moans about having to travel for a “derby game”, it was them that asked to play us!

Pearson was the biggest offender on the pitch at set pieces. Rugby tackled diarra to ground on a few occasion.

Deflecting attention from the fact that his team were crap?
Pearson was the worst offender all afternoon - he was all over Diarra at every set-piece. As for Keates making out that Barrow's game was all about physicality, at least we had a game!

I was stood on the Holker street end before the game started and although these “fans” to the barrier to get a reaction it was only after Wrexham fans threw 2 bottles over at the kids did steward throw out one of the lads. I think the police need to be stood in nomans land in between so they can actually do a proper job rather than the majority of them standing at the bottom of the stairs by the seats.

I think Makoma played very well, he was better than that donkey Diagne who is absolutely awful!

Makoma did OK but we really need much better cover here, thought holty looked off the pace ,just a pity we had no wide players available because I think Wrexham were there for the taking speaking of wide players just what is wrong with fitzpatrick does he actually exist? :D

We started with two wide players - Barthram and Jones. Neither had any defensive duties, both played well.

Makoma had no real idea what to do when he got the ball and a few times ran himself into a corner when an early pass was on. The time he was running in on goal he got slower as he had no idea what to do. Marking and tracking back was also poor. I doubt he will be starting another game if everyone is fit

Only people to blame were the officials. If the problems were sorted in first 10 mins non of the other issues would have happened. He was a pretty incompetent referee

Those lads had a banner saying "Scotty is in a F*****g Box" referring to Wrexham fan that had died. Not suprised a few people reacted badly!

Non of them feral yoof will visit Wrexham. They only come to holker at twice a season.
Won't have enough pocket money left to get to Wrexham.

As I saw it first ten minutes we weren’t bad, and equally, the last ten the same.
In between fairly ineffective against a poor, out of form Wrexham. Dixon didn’t have to make a save (though nor did their keeper).
We get shoved off the ball too easily, and too often the player with the ball doesn’t have enough options to pass to another teammate in space.
I like the supportive posts for Makoma, but I’m sorry to say to my eye he hasn’t got it. He was clattered (probably deliberately) early on, and then was panicky with the ball, and without it he was plain poor. Didn’t see him make a single tackle and he wasn’t running into space. I hope I’m forced to change my mind about him.
Usually I think you’ve got to take the rough with the smooth regarding refs, but this one was very poor, and he has form at Holker Street. Lots of mistakes, and he couldn’t sort out the penalty area wrestling matches that took place throughout the game. The failure to give the penalty was diabolical.

Disagree with Makoma playing well. I thought he was totally out of his depth and was very poor. massive hole in our midfield with him in there. I would have played Yussef behind the front 2 and in front of Gomis.
The flu bug probably played it's part in team selection. Diagne is poor too.
Thought both forward lines were ineffective against 2 solid defences. Pearson got what he deserved. He was dishing it out all game. Think Wrexham's comments are over the top....
The officials were once again dreadful.......Wright has never had a decent game here and gave us very little.
The wrestling in the goalmouth was embarrassing and he never dealt with it.
Overall a draw a fair result. But there was no difference between the teams yesterday
