I am sure Adi has a big list of who he wants but nothing is as simple as that is it, Even if a new Goalie was 4th or 5th on his list but suddenly the right choice becomes available, What should Adi do, Say no thanks I need a Midfielder 1st & I refused to bring anyone in until my priority choice becomes available....That would not get criticized would it!!!

If he gets the majority of his targets no matter the order he gets them in, That will do for me.

Our last 2 signings seem of good pedigree to me, hope they begin to thrive & help change the culture within the team.

Main thing is we need a point at least Saturday and I am sure Paul Cox will want to rub our node in it.

Apparently, there were only TWO players who agreed to stay over-night prior to the Brackley game.

If I was Pennock I'd build a team around those TWO.

Loyalty and commitment are rare characteristics in todays game and go hand in hand with good team spirit - you can have the best players in the world but without good team spirit you won't win a thing! Manchester City highlighted the importance of this by recently refusing to pay higher wages to Sanchez in case it affected the morale of the other players in their squad.

Also; the recent passing away of Jimmy Armfield brought into the public eye the virtues of loyalty to and love of ONE CLUB.

"agreed to stay" ?. I interpreted Mr Pennocks remarks after the replay as having expected the players to have used thier own initiative in staying overnight. I dont think "agreeing" came into it.

We have games against both Torquay and Hartlepool coming up - lose those two and we could be in deep trouble!
And our LAST game of the season is against Chester

Ogden and cox created a mine field this term. As a former cox supporter I now feel he duped us and is filling his wallet at guisley. Scouts. Agents and managers.... poisoned cocktail at times?
Ady will keep us up and progress because he has integrity and ability.

Carlisle is served by the West Coast Main Line railway with direct express trains to most major conurbations, plus the M6 motorway.

The A590 isnt that bad at all. If people cant afford 40 mins then they have a problem.
We cant all live on the edge of the motorway.
Coming off the motorway and down the A590 is a pleasant and scenic experience for some folk. Most people when they get to the Barrow exit have had enough of the bloody motorway by then without more of a boring journey to the Scottish border.
To most people down south who dont like travelling north at the best of times, Carlisle may as well be in bloody Scotland !!.

Also worth a mention is that Carlisle were once in the first division and top of that league for a while i.e. in the Champions League places. They are currently mid table in the league above us and have spent time in non-league so it would seem that their remote location is doing them no favours.

I remember seeing Spurs at Brunton Park in their first division days along with Liverpol and Everton. I 'think' Spurs was their first home match in that league Wintergreen.
Any way,times have changed a lot since then-and so have peoples attitudes and way of life. People have become lazier and want everything in a hurry and, want to be everywhere in a hurry. Hence the misconception that Barrow is miles away from anywhere. I know its not the easiest of places to get to but hell fire-its not that bad.
These misconceptions are perpeptuated by [SwearFilter] such as Adam Virgo, who commentates for BT sport. For example,while he was commentating on the Fylde v Barrow match he mentioned Barrow's geographical position. "You'll get jet lag travelling all that way" the [SwearFilter] said. A lot of lazy idle [SwearFilter] take these inane comments on board and keep perpetuating the myth so it grows with the help of social networks. We all have different oppinions and attidudes,I suppose its what makes the world go around and makes it that bit more interesting but, thirty odd or forty minutes down through scenic countryside to Barrow !, if people cant afford that then its time to pack up,as they say.

We are of course well involved in the relegation conversation. However the relegation conversation is much more widespread than just the bottom 5 and indicates what an unusual season this has turned out to be. Some interesting stats as an example that look at performance of all teams in the NL over the last 10 games:

- Only 8 teams have a points average of more than 1.5. A promotion chasing team would normally expect to average closer to 2.0 points per game. This suggests that those particularly in and around the lower play-off places are not
really setting the world alight
- Only 2 teams (Tranmere and Fylde) have won more than half of their last 10 games
- Despite their apparent recent resurgence Solihulls record over the last 10 games is exactly the same as Barrows. Interestingly we are in mid-table in the form table for the last 10 games
- Of the teams above us, Maidstone are winless, Hartlepool and Woking have won 1 apiece, Halifax and Maidenhead 2 apiece and Orient have won 3.
- Conversely whilst Guiseley has only won 1, Chester and Torquay have won 2; Solihull and Barrow have won 4 apiece

Collectively therefore the bottom five have outperformed the teams in the vicinity of the drop zone. This has not resulted in much change yet in the shape of the table but is having the effect of compressing at the very least, the bottom 10 places. With the teams in mid table, even upper mid table, not doing anything out the ordinary this means that those towards the bottom have a better chance of stealing points that they might not otherwise be able to do.

What this means, at least to me is that its very difficult at this stage and given current form to work out what the 4th bottom team will end up with in points terms. The possible range with a third of the season to go is unusually wide. Its possible to make a case to say that 50 points will remain the safety point. However it remains quite possible that survival could be much closer to 40 points and that there will be 4-6 teams within 2-3 points of this mark.

I would normally agree that 50 points and 13 wins is the target we should be looking at. However I'm increasingly inclined to judge our actual ability to survive based on the performance of a mini-league of 10 teams.
