Shame .. I feel sorry for the Sutton fans who have made the long trip. Just generally get a bitter taste in my mouth when a game gets called off. I agree, maybe there should have been a period of time where the grounds team could have tried to fix it but I'm saying this based on 1 pic I've seen .. ah well, we'll just have to hope the teams around us don't pick up points

Seems a bit premature - the rain had stopped by 11am in Barrow - with sunshine now and all afternoon, the pitch would have had 4 hrs for the water to "soak away".
Would that not have been enough time ??

Considering the report in the mail about the drainage and the forecast which was for heavy rain Fri night into Sat morning, is is daft to ask why the pitch covers weren't put on? Certainly down the popular side half of the pitch.

This weather would of made for a great afternoon of football, shame it was called off so early, Callum Macdonald will be gutted as his loan spell will be close to being up by the time we play again!!

We are looking at irrigation and different things, and we are starting the process of building the budget for the summer in terms of what kind of improvements we want to make ANDREW CASSON

Would it be a much cheaper option to dig out a few dozen big holes on the problematic side avoiding the old terracing steps and fill with rocks so the standing water has somewhere to drain or bury a few sump pumps & recycle the water if needed when it’s drier

We are delighted to confirm that Calum Macdonald’s loan deal with us has been extended until the end of the month.

Calum has featured regularly since his arrival at the club from Derby County, and struck a dramatic last gasp equaliser against Wrexham on New Years Day. Club posted this on Jan 4th Moribund!!!
