Cant have been after Storer...55 goals in 14 years. Mind you has a bite in him. Bit like this forum.Rigger wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 10:24 amGoogle Kyle Storer and Sean Raggett. They both share the same thing in common with regards Barrow AFCDaveP wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 10:19 am Yes I know all that which is why I posted in the first place.
What I'm getting at is why haven't we strengthened and the reply quoted above states the club have refused. I asked not unreasonably where the poster had got this information from or was it just speculation. ie fact or supposition.

Re: The building has started!!
Opinions are like arseholes everyone has got one.
The money they have spent on players wages over the years imagine if that money had been spent on the ground or the infrastructure, that would be paying dividends now. At least if the Casson's ever walked away we would have some decent facilities and things in place to move towards sustainability.
I don't blame him for not wanting to spend more money on players, if that is the case, our budget is not bottom 5. This season is a write off, nothing to get excited about lets hope we have enough to survive and the club try to build some excitement with a fresh slate for next season.

This sums it all up perfectlybarrowfan_chris wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 9:25 am Pennock had players lined up that the club have refused apparently so make of that what you will.
Warm words offer me nothing anymore the apathy is killing this club I think back to when Casson first bought the club and the buzz it created.
New stands, refurbished floodlights, shop in town, supporters involved in every step ect...
Now look at us struggling at the bottom signing players like Bignott and Diagne plus youth loans.
Genuinely what is there to be excited about to draw supporters to this club?
We are far from safe Torquay is a big game need to win to keep the gap from the bottom 4.
As for the other post I’m not convinced we’d have got Ragget anyway, surely a league club would have come in for him but we have been/still are desperate for a Jimmy Dunne replacement
Re: The building has started!!
Its sad to see it falling from grace. It used to be a place for heated and well rounded debate. After viewing it from afar its seemingly no more than an unofficial prediction league site these days.
Shame Jo Am Back doesn't post anymore. Although something tells me that account may creep up again soon with all the other accounts which have seemingly disappeared recently in the absence of the King of the forum.

Barrow were very close to signing Raggett on his release from Dover.
Re: The building has started!!
Is that relevant to today's situation? He was released by Dover in 2016. Is this the same Raggett who signed for Norwich in the championship?Rigger wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 12:23 pmHenneysKnee wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 12:03 pm

Well yes, Raggett signed for Norwich recently for £1million after they took the chance on his tribunal fee of around £40k. They even got to loan him back for this season.

Re: The building has started!!
Many opinions on this forum but some are not so much glass half empty but glass empty and smashed to smithereens. Looking on other clubs forums I realise the negative attitudes are not solely the property of Barrow AFC, as soon as a club struggles out come the doom merchants. Yes we have struggled this season for various reasons and at the start you would have to be concerned but action has been taken which will, hopefully, pull us round. As for rumours of the management team being refused players they seem remarkably similar to previous rumours in the recent past i.e. speculation at best.
Re: The building has started!!
Mad how last January it all went quiet on the transfer front when the club needed new signings to achieve its goals and it relied on the cheaper option of loans and the season tailed off.MikeRenney wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 12:57 pm As for rumours of the management team being refused players they seem remarkably similar to previous rumours in the recent past i.e. speculation at best.
Then in the summer it went quiet on the transfer front when "7th wasn't good enough" the season before, forcing Cox to miss out on number one targets and forcing him to scramble around and somehow manage to put a squad together which the owners son considered to have "no real weaknesses". Then when Cox left it wasn't him that put the squad together it was the other fall guy Ogden who resigned for a second time then no one really knew who put the squad together at this point cause everyone had resigned/ had been booted.
Then this January its gone quiet on the transfer front when the club needs new signings to achieve its goals of survival and its seemingly relying on the cheaper option of youth loans despite having "no real weaknesses".
