But a former member of this forum is thier an argument for not backing him in january when he was already chasing jobs at notts county and tranmere.Rigger wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 1:24 pmMad how last January it all went quiet on the transfer front when the club needed new signings to achieve its goals and it relied on the cheaper option of loans and the season tailed off.MikeRenney wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 12:57 pm As for rumours of the management team being refused players they seem remarkably similar to previous rumours in the recent past i.e. speculation at best.
Then in the summer it went quiet on the transfer front when "7th wasn't good enough" the season before, forcing Cox to miss out on number one targets and forcing him to scramble around and somehow manage to put a squad together which the owners son considered to have "no real weaknesses". Then when Cox left it wasn't him that put the squad together it was the other fall guy Ogden who resigned for a second time then no one really knew who put the squad together at this point cause everyone had resigned/ had been booted.
Then this January its gone quiet on the transfer front when the club needs new signings to achieve its goals of survival and its seemingly relying on the cheaper option of youth loans despite having "no real weaknesses".

Well what did Casson want? Did he want The play offs or not?boyliegladbach wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 3:44 pmBut a former member of this forum is thier an argument for not backing him in january when he was already chasing jobs at notts county and tranmere.Rigger wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 1:24 pm

7th wasn’t good enough remember?
Maybe Casson should have tied down Cox with a longer contract to put any clubs off.
Im sure it would have been easier to back him, get promoted and search for a new manager in the league above with all this money the club and its fans are seeing.
When will be the next time we see Barrow AFC in a better position at xmas to get promoted?
As opposed to not backing him in the summer and going through a relegation battle with 3 managers in 6 months and not backing any of them whilst 75% of the club staff resign.

And there would have been a lot more grants available for all this work on the ground that was meant to happen if we had made the football league.......

Re: The building has started!!
Even you must admit our squad isn't big enough or have enough quality if gomis or hall get injured who replaces them?we have no cover at all at centre half and the only forward who actually looked the part was not picked and has now left for whatever reason needs replacing.MikeRenney wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 12:57 pm Many opinions on this forum but some are not so much glass half empty but glass empty and smashed to smithereens. Looking on other clubs forums I realise the negative attitudes are not solely the property of Barrow AFC, as soon as a club struggles out come the doom merchants. Yes we have struggled this season for various reasons and at the start you would have to be concerned but action has been taken which will, hopefully, pull us round. As for rumours of the management team being refused players they seem remarkably similar to previous rumours in the recent past i.e. speculation at best.
We were promised better replacements than player's that left where are they ?no wonder the club get criticised I think most of us that post give reasonable arguments and the club have to accept this instead of getting people to belittle certain posts to deflect attention from the obvious problems the club are having all we ask is a bit of honesty I won't hold my breath!

Re: The building has started!!
Certainly agree we need a bigger squad with more quality I am hoping Ady and Grant will sort this out keeping us up then in the close season signing the best they can to suit our budget. As for Yussuf leaving personally I was glad he went, a brief glimpse of what he could do then it disappeared, he never performed for us other than being consistently poor. Probably going to take a bit of time sorting the squad as we will have players on good money who will not be sought by any other club so will not be moving, thanks Paul Cox. I don’t think we could afford him as manager for very long, not many clubs seemed able too.

And there's me expecting a young Simon Templar.
Re: The building has started!!
Not doing too badly with a keeper centre half striker and winger just need a quality midfielder now. Keep the faith
Re: The building has started!!
Loan signing a striker who scored 20 goals in 123 games really prolific.
Midfielder from a youth team
We sign a goalkeeper who has been given his P45 from Gillingham on a 18 month contract but he has followed AP from Forest Green to Gillingham
Dixon fans must be distraught.

I don’t think I’m a negative person but I think we can all see the signs of disenchantment, lack of investment and steady all round stalemate at the FBSS. Paul Casson has given it his best shot, provided a good level of investment but ultimately did not have the conviction or wherewithal to properly re-build Barrow AFC to the standards we have seen at our neighbouring football clubs.
Had Paul not stepped in when he did the club would have folded and the Supporters Trust would in time have re-formed the club at a much lower level. However, I believe that is exactly what is going to happen within the next five years.

Let's just get some points from some games.[SwearFilter] to anything else.
"Walter, I'm sure there's a reason you brought your dirty undies..."
