Is it really SIXTY years since I went with my late father and many others to clear snow and ice off the pitch with nothing more than shovels, picks and watchmans' braziers (ask your dad) to get the FA Cup tie with Wolves on . Progress eh !

Didn't the club say the drains have been damaged due to the cranes etc. Erecting the new floodlights nothing can really be done till close season.

Be interesting to see what other games are off today if any, there seems to be an issue with our pitch that it can't take a sustained period of rain.

I can remember one game in the sixties where, as a young lad, I was given a pick and told to go and chip ice off the Popular Side terrace. Health & Safety didn't come into it!

Our reward was free admission to the match, which our efforts helped to make sure it went ahead as planned.

Sutton game could well be in doubt, more rain forecast for Mon & Tue. In fact, most home games for rest of season could be in doubt - we are in the North West & it's winter

Well that is outstanding - I'm glad someone at the club has heart like that. Remarkable effort whoever was involved with it.
