It was warm last night, I didn't even wear my gloves---and interestingly yesterday on t.v. they were discussing heated underwear available in motorcycle shops. Just saying, Ian. Hope this info is of use to you.
A decent display by the players and unlucky not to win. That shot from Jones would have been a fantastic goal had it gone in. James Man of the Match and the silence which greeted the announcement said it all.
Well done to the young man who came forward to sell the programmes.
Let's hope we can build on last night's performance and progress up the league.

Not sure what odds you would get on Barrow beating Maidenhead this weekend. I would imagine you'd be looking into the Millions/1 with Barrow set to play Maidstone on Saturday.

I have to be honest and say that I made my way to HS last night with enthusiasm as low as I can ever remember it in 56 years of attending the place. I think it was only old habits dying hard that prevented me from joining the hundreds of absentees on (or should that be off?) the terraces. I arrived in a state of total negativity which, needless to say, is not the way any supporter wants to be. I think that apart from 71-72 when we decided - - - doh - - - to destroy our ground and laughably expect the FL to still welcome us, this season has been the most kamikaze I can recall, with the self-destruct button being pressed regularly both on the field and off it.

I was down when I left the ground at the end last night but at least it was for a better reason; we had played well and worked hard across the pitch and it was frustrating to not get the three points we deserved. But at least it offered us hope for survival over the games that remain if we can keep up that proper professional approach (something lacking too often this season). Luke James was terrific, giving us pace, movement and flair that our static front line has lacked . . . easily head and shoulders MOTM for me. His skilful round-the-corner flick to set Bauress free should have produced the winner for us. Young McDonald at left-back was also excellent. Overall, nobody could be accused of lack of effort on this occasion. The only thing that puzzles me is to wonder whether Jordan White really has a future at (virtual) right-back??? What was that all about??? To be fair, the lad worked as hard as anyone but what was he doing back there???

Not a huge fan of White, but thought he did ok on the right side of midfield. Definitely one of his better games for the team.
I was surprised Moussa got mom - one of his more tired games I thought. Both fullbacks pretty good. Cook looked competent and nervy in equal measure.
James was impressive. Some real pace in the team for the first time for a while. It’s potent at this level of football, and he looked dangerous throughout.
Hats off to the whole team on this single performance against a team far from being mugs.
There is hope on this showing, just got to keep it up!
Personally I think there should be a special mention for the groundstaff. Given the state of the weather recently, the pitch played really well.

Dreadful attendance, but actually a pretty entertaining game, would have probably taken the point before the match, but on the whole we were good enough for all three, but for the crossbar and a bit of rushed finishing.

James got a lot of stick on the radio at Torquay but i liked him last night, been a while since we've had such a direct striker, happy to run straight channels or actually with the ball at his feet run at men. Macdonald was probably MOTM for me tonight, looks a really good player and glad we've managed to hang onto him. Gomes is just unreal on his day too, so much energy, he gets absolutely everywhere!

Roll on Saturday now, really could do with 3 points down there!
