Bank Rolled Clubs And Relegation
With regard to our worrying current position in the National League:
Has any 'bank rolled' club ie Fleetwood etc etc - whilst in the process of ascending the footballing pyramid - ever been relegated?
The thought crossed my mind whilst dwelling on Paul Casson and Barrow AFC.
Would we be the first club to have been taken over by a 'sugar daddy' and relegated?

We recruited badly hence some of players not up to this level.
Coxy [SwearFilter].d all our budget away. Went to Guiseley and spent a shit load there too.
Guiseley is run by a sugar daddy. Do you think they will go down?

Re: Bank Rolled Clubs And Relegation
Cox left in August.
Thats a long time for a league ,with no transfer window to contend with ,where you can sign and release a player anytime you like. More than enough to sort a team out.

Re: Bank Rolled Clubs And Relegation
He's had a cracking Season Cox. There's not many managers that could end up contributing towards the relegation of 2 from the same league. However I think we will narrowly avoid relegation with a 98th minute winning volley 30 yards out from our man in goals.
Re: Bank Rolled Clubs And Relegation
How many players has Cox signed this season ?
Must be some sort of record.

Re: Bank Rolled Clubs And Relegation
Are you suggesting Cox gets a percentage of every signing on fee or players' salary?
Controversial, but it would explain a lot.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

Agree with you a former member of this forum,if only we signed those players last January that helped York go downnorthscaler wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2018 6:25 pm Cox left in August.

You just can't release contracted players a former member of this forum.....you know that.northscaler wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2018 6:25 pm Cox left in August.

He signed most of our players on big money paying large signing on fees in the process. He leaves in August. What do you do....release all your contracted players and sign again...

No you can’t but you can transfer or loan them. Hence Yussuf to Solihull, Hughes to Guiseley.whitty1969 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2018 8:16 pmYou just can't release contracted players a former member of this forum.....you know that.northscaler wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2018 6:25 pm Cox left in August.

How do you know the wages the players are on and how much the signing fees were? Care to share that info with us or are you just guessing?

Re: Bank Rolled Clubs And Relegation
Ask yourself why these players have left:
Harrison
Yussuff
Moore
Harvey
Hughes.
If they were on ‘big money’ as you say then ,bar moore why have they all been replaced with youth loans?
