This cost cutting is now a joke if our board (Andrew Casson ) can't see that if we don't recruit we're going down then he's a bigger fool than I thought he was .
The biggest worry is Pennock accepting this situation surely when he applied for the job he must have asked about getting more players in or is he just here for the short term?
The Red Adair of football Andrew Casson has been sent in to wind us down, strong and stable that's his motto.
Relegation will cut costs further
No need for that imperative replacement for Paul Ogden
Part time football players
Part time CEO forgot we have not got one
Part time Commercial Manager ,who is it now?
In all honesty what can Adi do?
We keep hearing they will back the Managers I think they mean their Managers will have their backs against the wall.

Re: Player shortage
Investment isn't rocket science either.
I believe we are gambling on survival this season by using what we have and then trying to build back up in the summer with a clean slate.
I just worry now with the games piling up and other teams being able to cope with this better due to larger squads.
Let's hope the gamble pays off. This is a huge few months for the club

This. Its not some form of planned Casson apocalypse nor is it the well funded masterplan AC and Pennock would have us believe. Completely understand why they are making it but it is a gambleMark Johnson wrote: ↑Fri Mar 02, 2018 11:32 pmInvestment isn't rocket science either.

Re: Player shortage
It could be the case that Pennock intended to strengthen but the players he wanted were not available/went elsewhere/wanted too much money/etc. He has said he would not recruit just for the sake of adding to the numbers, they had to be right for the club. So rather than being a calculated gamble, it could be just the way things have worked out.Mark Johnson wrote: ↑Fri Mar 02, 2018 11:32 pmI believe we are gambling on survival this season by using what we have and then trying to build back up in the summer with a clean slate.

Re: Player shortage
A poor Bury team two levels above us? Also holty played with him and thought he could do a job sadly it seems his injury is preventing him from being that player.
Re: Player shortage
Harrison's possibly as he's on loan, but highly unlikely we'll be paying any of Yussuf's as he's a Solihull player.saltcellar wrote: ↑Fri Mar 02, 2018 9:33 pm

Re: Player shortage
But were Ashton and Grimes not Southport players with the club paying towards their stay as contracts were still running down allegedly.Kieran wrote: ↑Sat Mar 03, 2018 12:39 pmHarrison's possibly as he's on loan, but highly unlikely we'll be paying any of Yussuf's as he's a Solihull player.saltcellar wrote: ↑Fri Mar 02, 2018 9:33 pm

You would of hoped the club has learned lessons since, but that's all it is just hope.
Re: Player shortage
Yussuf left by mutual consent - implies that a deal was reached where the club paid up his contract or at least part of it. We won't be paying towards his wages now.
Re: Player shortage
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that if a person obtains employment elsewhere then the previous employer is under no obligation to continue paying wages regardless of if a contract existed or not. Similar to when a manager is placed on gardening leave, they're only entitled to continue receiving wages up to the point they obtain alternative employment.
If we were to be paying a portion of Yussuf's wages then it would be absolute madness and the craziest thing the club has probably ever done. Paying the wages of a player for a club who's resurgence could ultimately send us down. I know we're a shambles at times but I refuse to believe anyone at the club could be that stupid!

Re: Player shortage
Speaking of managers are we still paying for Micky Moore last I heard he was briefly volunteering at Chester? That was a a long contract as well.If by some miracle our team keep injury and suspension free and get the required minimum points points to keep us up The negative posters will have nothing to moan about. As Paul Casson took on this club as a sort of of memorial to his father I don’t buy this theory among some critics that it’s all an underhand plan to wind club up ending in relegation and worst scenario proffered sale of ground for handsome profit.
