Its not all over yet, but I am fearing the worst. A defeat at Leyton O. was never going to be the end of the world in itself, but the manner of defeat - with a sending off and then 2 goals in stoppage time - looks like surrender from a bunch of players who have lost heart. Of course, if we win on Tuesday while Woking and Solihull lose, everything will look hopeful again! Fingers crossed.

Serious question now, where would that leave us if they did pull out? Would we financially sound? Would there be any one else taking us over?

If they pulled out Club would amass debts and fold and end up on a scruffy pitch playing in front of ten men and a dog.Take a reality check we are all gutted the way It has gone but i would rather be in conference north for some time while owners and management team learn from mistakes.We need stability and time to consolidate after all the changes in management and team this year

We’ll do another 5 year plan they usually work out quite well.

Wont comment on the game. But will comment on the 160 plus supporters who turned up and to a man tried to lift the team for the entire 90 minutes. They were brilliant and the atmosphere was much better than I experienced on Tuesday night. For the record it was quite emotional for a few at the end, probably because of the realisation that for all the effort and there was plenty, that this is in all probability a doomed team/squad/unit - even with 6 games to play. Its inadequacies were visible in all areas of the pitch and are such now that even a moderately decent team such as Orient (far inferior to Fylde in my view) could not help but find ways of scoring. We got nothing from the officials and none of the breaks you need to survive. A doomed team is also an unlucky one.

Some of us have seen these symptoms before and can smell relegation like a recurring disease. No matter how many times it happens it never ceases to be any less painful and the pain of a watching a team who despite trying so hard are unable to save themselves probably became apparent to even the most battle hardened bluebird today. I'm not blaming anyone in particular. I'll leave that to others. I've been around long enough now at least to try and remain philosophical about these things. As I said walking away from the ground this afternoon - nobody died this afternoon - and there are many more concerning things going on in the world at the moment. However, given the hope if not expectation that has been created over the last couple of years around this club, this is especially disappointing. And that of course is a complete understatement to a passionate BAFC supporter.

From the moment Livesey was allowed to leave I could see the writing was on the wall as any club with ambition would have moved heaven and earth to keep a player of his calibre who was at an age where he wouldn't be attractive to a league team.

Out of interest, how is he doing this season?

No point in blaming the players when they just aren't good enough! All the club's better than average players from last season - Livesey, Anderton, Williams, Bennett, Harrison have been allowed to leave without being replaced. From the moment Livesey was allowed to leave I could see the writing was on the wall as any club with ambition would have moved heaven and earth to keep a player of his calibre who was at an age where he wouldn't be attractive to a league team. I placed a bet on Barrow to be in the bottom 4 at 10/1 very early in the season in the faint hope that my atrocious luck in betting might save us but it's looking more and more unlikely to help! The owner is keeping the club running but it's been obvious to anybody with half a brain for a very long time that he just hasn't the resources to fund a club at this level any longer.

Agree. Our transfer activity over summer is a major cause of this, yes hindsight etc, but I think Casson believed the way to build Barrow up was to send Paul Ogden out on a mission to bring in the next Williams, Anderton, Bennett, players who would develop here and then be sold on. It hasnt worked and we've struggled all season trying to get a winning formula with a small squad, many who have just not been good enough. End result, well the table doesnt lie. At the end of last season the question should have been who do we need to add to this decent squad. I am left thnking that last seasons squad, with the likes of Yussuf, Gomes coming in over summer and I think we’d have gone the extra step. Players like Akil Wright, ARH, Ross Hannah, Danny Livesy are good players who would walk into this side.

Completely agree with you. All the players you mention would definitely walk into this side and with the addition of just Gomis, Yussef and, for a time, Jimmy Dunne would be right at the top of the league. Just imagine if the team had played all season with a back 3 of Dunne, Livesey and (last season's) Diarra. Dunne came on for his first match at Accrington as a sub on Jan 13th. He also came on as a sub in his second match. Since then he has been in the team for every match since and in the 8 games in which he has played, Accrington have conceded 2 goals which is half what they conceded in the 2 matches before he played! Even the one or two decent players we had like Diarra and Harrison seem to lose interest which I don't think is that surprising when they realise the team is being run down and they are surrounded by mediocrity.
