4 points from 9. Sounds easy. I wish it was, I really do. But easy it is not. At worst we need to go into the game versus Chester needing only to match Woking & Torquay.

Lets take Torquay first. Away at Hartlepool, Home v Guiseley and Home v Ebbsfleet. They are seven points adrift of us with a poorer GD. If they were to win the first two games would end up at worst one point behind us on the last day.
Am not sure what they will do at Hartlepool (who are now safe); but am pretty sure they will beat a knackered Guiseley at home. However they have Ebbsfleet on the final day. Looking at the tables Ebbsfleet will probably need to win to secure a play-off place and really look the business at the moment. They have no midweek game. I think Torquay would do very well to get three points from that. So I cant see a Torquay final total beyond 47 points. Their GD is 16 worse than ours and I dont think thats going to be overturned in 3 games. So the likelihood (if not probability) is that we will finish above them even if we lost all three games.

Woking. Away at Guiseley and home to Dover. Clearly the last game is the most interesting. Dovers form has been faltering a bit lately though they've been playing some decent sides. They should go into the last game with at least a mathemematical chance of play-offs as long as they beat Gateshead at home on saturday. This would make them pretty motivated on the last day and at their best you would pick them to beat Woking or take a point at least. As regards Guiseley that fixture is a total mystery. A knackered relagated team versus a team desperate to win but with an absolutely appalling away record. This is a case of the least worst team on the day. If Guiseley can restrict Woking to a point, I'd be happy to kiss a Yorkshireman. Worse case they win and go into the last day on 48 points.

Us. Aldershot and Bromley away both teams with great home records. If you could promise me a point from either game again I would be eternally grateful. Its difficult to see any way that the last place wont be decided until next saturday. I think Torquay are now on the periphery - which is good because their form of late has been better than both ours and Woking. Thanks to last night the odds have moved back in our favour and we are in the better place but not by that much.

For some reason we have a great record against Aldershot - who could forget Ross Hannahs thunderbolt last season. Our record v Bromley is abysmal. If we are going to do anything to affect the outcome before next saturday i think it would probably come at Aldershot. Perhaps that is one reason the buses have been laid on.

Mall - sounds like you might be one of those (not unlike myself) who thinks that somewhere out there, the Supreme Being of our Universe has been carefully manipulating events in order that there remains one massive disappointment still left for us to endure. I've tried innoculating myself against even the most objective forms of optimism but it never works. I'm consoling myself with the knowledge that this particular brand of purgotory will end in 10 days time at which time I will fully appreciate that whatever the outcome there's a lot more important things in life - a fact that currently I seem to have blanked out.

In truth the Supreme being of the Universe has little to do with our predicament and if we go down we'll probably have deserved to. They need to give us one big performance in the next two games and then Chester would be a party and not a funeral.

Buses were simply we thought more could go on a Saturday, though we considered either. I agree historically more of a chance at Shots. We will be running a bus to Bromley if we still need points though, no question. I think we will need something next Ssturday, the corpse of Woking will twitch at some point.

It will all be over Saturday we will draw and Woking will lose and Torquay will fail to pick up maximum points.. Then as long as we don't get walloped by Bromley and Chester we will be ok

Sounds good, If it happens, Maybe Guiseley Don’t fancy us competing with them in the CN as if we stay up it will make their life in the CN a tiny bit easier, Who knows.
