I don’t think anyone will be “loving it” but since Casson took over too many people on here have had their heads up his arse and had a go on the more wary people. I don’t trust Casson at all never have and found out early on what I thought of him, but end of the day I don’t want to see this club go down the pan again and that’s how I see it going. His son hasn’t got a clue and I’ll put a wager on him not being around much longer, but you cannot buy a football club on a whim and expect it to succeed. Cue them leaving and hornbys/Collier trying to be the keens with help from businesses and attempting a rescue. Not even worth thinking about

The core revenue derived from gate receipts is not much different now to what it was when the Cassons took over. We have a core support that is very loyal and would bend over backwards to help the club. We also have a good set of ex-pats who turn up at away games and usually give a good account of ourselves. But we are not a well supported club and have not been for many, many years. I'm back to a memory of Dave Bayliss bitterly criticising the level of support some years ago when less than 800 turned up for a league game when we beat Luton 1-0.

All these things were known to the Cassons at the time of course and apart from anything else, Paul Casson is himself a Barrovian, and so cant say he is not acquainted with the Barrovian mentality. Perhaps he has spent too long out of the town and perhaps he did actually buy the club after a drunken night out - because the last four years are increasingly beginning to look like the product of a man with a hangover.

Andrew Cassons carefully scripted statement does of course continue many truths. However they are truths that many of us have known since well before the Cassons appeared and if the essential truth is that you cant buy success with our current level of support then its strange that AC has just learned this. More than anything the statement is an admission of failure. As Ste Story points out above, a club that must live by its means in Barrows case is not a club that needs an absentee millionaire as an owner or a CEO that seems to spend much of his time learning essential truths about running a non-league football club.

However, I dont resent the Cassons. Whatever they feel they have or have not achieved for their £4 million, its actually made the last four years far from boring and its not really cost me any more than beer money to participate and enjoy. I've actually become connected with more BAFC fans during this time than in the previous 40 years. But gravity is gravity and unless you are willing to throw money building a rocket to get you to the stars, you will always be pulled down eventually.

That's all that's happening here. We are in the process of finding our true level and I dont think its in the National League. It never was and unfortunately the relative success of last season on the field made us forget this.

For 4 million I’d rather have seen an improved ground over the years rather than a team struggling to survive if casson leaves due to finances where worse off who’d come in and spent on the ground

I think he will be told about the need to reduce costs and he and his assistant will go.
We will then get a statement thanking him and saying we have a ready made replacement in Grant Holt with his vast football connections at cleatormoor ,Disington,Whitehaven etc

Well lets get back to the club that we know and love. No more of this ridiculous player's lounge for a start. There was always a connection between the fans and the players---that's what makes non league special. Fans and players and their families all mixing and getting to know each other. Great banter and camararderie. We were as one.

Just for information for anyone who met Brian Owen, YJO's dad, he sadly passed away this week. Always at matches home and away along with YJO's grandad and in one season travelled 28,000 miles in support. A larger than life character who was only in his 50's I believe. You see we KNEW these people unlike now.

In the past we have had players travelling from further afield Wales, Sheffield. etc and Masters from Hasting leaving on a Friday and getting back home on a Sunday and they didn't find travelling to Barrow a hardship cos they wanted to play for us. Andy Burns on the Monday we brought the promotion Trophy home he came straight out of work and drove up to Barrow cos he was proud of what they had achieved for Barrow AFC. Its the quality of the person not the distance that's the problem. Bearing in mind these were part timers Not the pampered spoilt players we have ended up with.
It's up to us fans now to roll up the sleeves and get on with it---as my mam used to say when troubles hit.
We've had better and we've had worse BUT WE ARE STILL HERE.

As Hadrian says...was stated AP has full backing of club. Secondly i believe that AP reads this forum , and will harvest the feeling of fans. And yes, i Do believe this has an influence imo.
