The writing has been on the wall for a long time and now the elephant in the room i.e. PC getting his ambitions and limitations mixed up has finally departed. He has invested a helluva lot of money in the club and that has to be a positive. I can't help but think if only PC was on-board when Dr Joliffe and co were pitching the NHS tie-in to redevelop the ground, the NHS were put off by the £600k price tag and bought the Alfred Barrow site instead.

It's all a very Barrow AFC thing to happen though isn't it?
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

I don't see ALL negatives in this... We just need to start again that's all. I don't think PC will pull the plug.

He is probably [SwearFilter] off with his money going on dross and rightly so. We have made mistakes. Everyone, except the fans :)

Casson Jr is owning up to this and just saying we need to be more self-sufficient, let's hope the football gets better and the crowds go up.

If Pennock stays and we get the right players in, we just need a good mid table finish with good home form and the crowds will creep up. Let's build from that, as I still dream that in my lifetime we will experience League football again.

Agree with most of this Mark the only issue for me is that Casson jnr is not up to the job and they clearly don't see this as the real problem

4 years ago, a local lad who made good in the USA made an emotional decision to buy his home town football club.
'Roy of the Rovers' stuff.
The £4 Million already spent and counting has not been a sound business investment, by any stretch.
In hindsight, it's been money down the drain.
And what's been achieved for US$6 Million?
Is BAFC better or worse off now than in 2014?
Better players? ( Only 2 goalies and a has-been left...). Better results? (barely escaped relegation). Better Stadium & facilities? (Yes new Floodlights, but still no pies...). Better attendances? (Trending down)
Regrettably there appears to be no light yet at the end of this dark tunnel.
Is there anyone who believes PC does NOT now regret his flawed decision, albeit made with good intent.
Frank Sinatra's song 'I did it my way' comes to mind when I think of PC.
Being a Barrovian himself and not an outsider, he should have known to achieve football success in this town was a long-shot.
Where does he go from here?
Only a Russian Oligarch with unlimited funds could and would continue to keep this languishing enterprise afloat, especially being an absentee owner.
PC has finally decided not to put more good money after bad, which never was a good business investment in the first place.
And who can blame him.
Most prudent business-men would now walk-away and write-off as much as possible as a tax-loss.
And save the air-fares.
He gave us hope, he tried his best, when no one else did, so give him his dues.
Are the Keens still around?

Absolutely no issue with cutting back, becoming more realistic in future plans, consolidating etc.
Always said it if the club had more realistic expectations then the public would have been more likely to get behind the club.

If we can stay in this league for the next few seasons, build the brand in the community and build on/improve the day to day running of the club, do some bits of upkeep/development of the ground most folk would be happy.

Had chance to sleep on it, so to speak.
The main problem for me is the club have never had the right person with the expertees for the job driving things. And until Paul addresses this we will always be in the same rudderless boat.
Andrew has to be the shopkeeper who controls the purse strings and I get that as it gives a level of control and facilitates. But we need someone who knows football inside out driving us forward someone who has seen it done it and bought the tee shirt. I know these people don't come cheaply but are a must if we stand any chance of success.
If we have to go backwards to go forwards so be it but let's get it right with a plan that is workable for one, achievable for two and one we are going to stick to long term with measurable goals and accountability. Not just another five minute wonder plan!!
Because if we don't we are just peeing against a hurricane.

All very true although there was never the slightest chance of it ever being a sound business investment as there is hardly a football club in the world which makes money. Even the mighty Real Madrid and Barcelona lose huge amounts of money every year and only survive through subsidies from their cities. A few top Premier League clubs make a profit through the Sky funding but outside of that almost every professional club in this country loses money hand over fist. A few of the lower clubs have a year or two when they don't lose too much but that is a very rare. If Paul Casson didn't realise he was going to lose an awful lot of money when he bought Barrow then it's a miracle that he ever made his fortune in business!

It's all about MONEY.
Everything is always about money.
That's PC's issue now.
Reality has hit home, hard.
Before he bought the Club, did he not hire a firm of Accountants and conduct 'due diligence'?
If so, and they were accurate, they would have told him the Club would suffer be a net loss of £1 Million per year for the foreseeable future.
1000 fans per game will do that.
The Club is not self-sustainable with those #'s.
Suspect you need 2000 minimum.
In the press releases from 2014 he spoke about investing £250K - £750K, not £4 million.
I guarantee you, if he thought he's be £4 Million in the Red by 2018, he would not have gone ahead.
If he did not conduct 'due diligence', that's his negligence.
He might be a Millionaire, but he's not in the Trump class.
Right now, he's worth £4 million less than he was.
Was it/is it worth it?

All what's being proposed should have happened from the start. Steady building would have seen us where we need to be now not going backwards.
The big ambitions without the foundations in place was always going to end in tears.
I feel for PC in some ways he has been at the mercy of agents and a greedy manager who saddled us with players earning above our budget and were not good enough for what they were earning.
For me Pennock is the man we needed 3 years ago he seems an honest guy who would advise on what is best for the club, but not sure he will stay now.
PC should have got a proper football man in first up to run the club who could have advised on improving the clubs revenues.
Building the bridges with the fans groups wont be easy after last season but we are Barrow lets get back to the days of Burton and Wembley when fans and club were one

I was afraid of this from the beginning. He bought the club and falsely made promises. Five year plan ???? what happened. He had his bit of limelight with promotion and got himself on tv with an FA cup game , showing his cowboy boots off. Now , we have a horrible season and he has lost interest in his toy …. turning his back on all true Barrow supporters. I always wondered what he would do if there was a tough period. They ( Cassson's) have no idea about the culture of an English football club. I've read the 'Club statement ' over and over and I can't take one positive from it. The second key 'takeaway' …..Barrow is not capable of competing for promotion and blames it on the support. I wonder if he knows how many supporters went to Sunderland and Middlesbrough. If they deliver , there will be plenty of support. The third takeaway ……. occasionally we play a home match in Barrow ????? If I remember rightly , we played 23 at home , just like the rest. The fourth takeaway……… football is changing ????? how would they know ? they have only been in football for four years and the majority of the time they are in America. The comparisons made with Accrington and Macclesfield are a load of rubbish. My heart sank when I read the statement and I pray to God that a solution is soon found otherwise my beloved club is going to end up in the West Lancs league in a couple of years. Right , I've had my rant , it's getting late and I'm hungry but I don't think it will be a takeaway because I've had enough of them for now.

No way will pennock be manager. He won't put all that effort and travelling in for a low budget. The guy wants to win.
