Mark Bower? He brought Guiseley up to the National and has now done a good job at Bradford Park Avenue.
Re: Pennock Gone
He's undoubtedly a very decent human being, something which doesn't often get said about people in the football industry. The way he's conducted himself since day one has been outstanding and that statement is no different.BahamasBluebird wrote: ↑Fri May 18, 2018 3:14 pm A message from Ady:

I think allowing Pennock to leave is a big opportunity missed. He got it here, the club, the supporters and the need to build bridges and be 100% better in the way we connect with the town and wider community. I know he'd talked about more initiatives with that in mind and I think given the chance (with no interference) he'd have sorted us out and perhaps even left something behind when he left (which none of our managers ever do).
None of it is surprising though. As soon as that statement came out Pennock was gone, before that even when we hadn't heard from him for weeks.
In itself and on the face of it, the suggested change of approach in the "statement" doesn't sound terrible and might even be described as sensible. But there are big problems at Barrow AFC. The main one being Andrew Casson who is just a walking PR nightmare. Even the statement itself oozed arrogance (god knows what he's got to be arrogant about). For as long as we have a clown like him running things (and I use the term running lightly) then we'll continue to [SwearFilter] people off and generally be a bit of a laughing stock.

Re: Pennock Gone
No surprise he has left given the circumstances as whoever takes the job on now is in for a real pressure cooker season.
I do wonder if relegation would have suited our owners given the stance now..... the staffing has been reduced for a while as if preparing for the lower league?
Nothing will surprise me now with the current regime. We await the next chapter....

Re: Pennock Gone
There won’t be many ex managers of ours who’ve been here for such a short period of time who could come on here and read such positive messages about themselves; Pennock is certainly one

Re: Pennock Gone
I think that A.P did the best he could with crap, weak as [SwearFilter] tools in his box. He came not only with a remit to keep us up but to help progress next season but the owners have now decided that the only remit is to keep the club afloat so rightly he has told them where to stick it. I noticed in his statement, no mention of them. They have clearly changed their tune about the future compared to what he must have been told prior to taking the job. I hope he goes on to a club who appreciate him and who at least give him chance with his own players and plan. What/who next? As already said, the next appointment will not only be vital but will tell us exactly what the future may hold. It has to be done quickly as who ever gets the job certainly won't/can't have the same target list as A.P and needs to get on with assembling not only a team but almost a full squad from scratch.
