Evatt’s post match reaction is spot on. Still so much to fine tune and we are going to get better as the season goes on. Can’t wait for the next game.
“It’s frustrating. We have had probably 65/70% of the possession, and we just need to stop shooting ourselves in the foot at the other end of the pitch. I’m tired of people coming up to me after games and telling me what a good side we are, we need to start coming away with points now. The worst we should be coming away from here with is 0-0.
We need to be street smart, we were naive at times. We gave them a leg up and they camped in. We’re doing so much right, and we will get better. Teams are starting to respect how good we are, and are putting men behind the ball - we need to work around that.”

Re: Maidstone v Barrow match thread
Have only seen us play once, against Chesterfield, and have watched highlights. We can certainly play when going forward, but I have to say, as a unit, the defence looks a bit shaky. Individual performances not bad (especially Granite, who seems a good leader as captain), but I thought C’fields’s second was very poor from our point of view as a defensive set play. I know we have injuries, and when everyone is fit it might be better.Jonty wrote: ↑Sun Aug 19, 2018 8:47 pm Evatt’s post match reaction is spot on. Very impressed with Firth; his distribution seems to be a cut above in this league.
Re: Maidstone v Barrow match thread
Just watched the highlights there and we’ve had some decent half chances, another day one or two of those fall just right. Evatt will be slightly annoyed that that’s another conceded from a cross into the box and it’s one to work on. I have also noticed as well that when we are moving the ball about at the back that we have a tendency to play it wide in our own half and getting closed down quickly. Lose possession there and we are in inviting trouble. We've been effective bringing the ball forward through the middle, Granite, Taylor both look comfortable doing this and they are good at it.Hitthebar22 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 19, 2018 10:39 pmHave only seen us play once, against Chesterfield, and have watched highlights.
