Need wilson back another bit of experience we are missing.

Aye, i think Wilson and Granite having a run of games together should see things improve at the back. Most teams will struggle with their first choice pairing missing.


On we go to Dover which will be an aerial bombardment no doubt.

A dominant first 25 minutes, 70% of the ball, deservedly ahead. Intricate in possession - at times overly so - and full of harrassment, we seem motivated and technically good.

As others have rightly identified, we lack an alternative route to goal if we cannot pass precisely through. While our ball-into-feet style is impressive and far removed from Barrow approaches of the past, this was arguably overdone when chasing the game last night. We continued neatly and patiently, building slowly from the back when, as variation, blending more pragmatic directness or typical Conference scruffiness was needed to induce upset in the Gateshead defence.

Our play lacked the pace and physicality to pierce the visitors’ well-structured, unadventurous massed ranks. Blyth showed some promising touches suggesting ability to hold up and flick on. From brief viewings, I think we’ve missed Turner up front. We need this kind of outlet as an alternative; to allow disruption of defences in advanced territory. With this focus, space could then be more easily prised open and exploited by the likes of Rooney (industrious and probing) and Burgess (comes deep and finds pockets of space).

Last season’s home performances were a trudge, almost a chore towards the end. This is heaps better. We’re a new, young side committed to a style of play that understandably will take time to reach peak effectiveness. The football’s been attractive, intriguing and infuriating, preferable to last season’s bland apathy. All involved deserve our support and constructive criticism.

Lack of concentration/lack of focus - again - by our players led to Gatehead's goals. It's now becoming frequent - hence the amount of goals being scored against us in the closing mins of games. In last night's case - closing mins of the first half. Needs to be rectified soon or another relegation scrap could be looming.

I was just being facetious. It’s frustrating. We’re playing well but we keep switching off and not putting our chances away which is a worry. I don’t really go with the they’re just kids learning mentality. They’re not 12 years olds. Playing well but losing our home games won’t get the fickle Barrow public interested.

Im sick of this “switching off” “lost concentration “ bullshit, teams take chances through good finishing,Gateshead scored 2 good goals, the second was excellent. I was stood holker end the guys lay off was sublime and finish of quality.

We will only ever see the odd 'good gate' in the future. People dont seem to realise that times are a changing in this town as they are elsewhere. To many lazy idle basteds now.

Don't see how people can't see the appeal in supporting their local team. It's a shame not just for Barrow but numerous clubs.

End of last season on a midweek night, through work I went to watch Arsenal in the corporate boxes - wined and dined all dressed up. The following Saturday I went to watch Maidenhead vs Barrow in a grotty ground that smelled like pi$$ .. Would take my Saturday experience any day!
