Aye some sad little boy who went off to support Fylde and tweet every time barrow conceded a goal.
Let’s hope he doesn’t return.

Bigfathoss wrote: Wed Oct 24, 2018 5:43 pm The mind boggles and I wish I could say I were surprised at the absolute ingrates that are spouting off. I'm amazed that the Casson family have continued for quite as long as they have done. It's a constant bleed on their own finances to keep the club afloat, and it was never going to be a permanent solution. I totally agree that naivety, with regards to what would be needed and what could be achieved, has played it's part but naivety doesn't warrant the slagging off that they have been subject to. When someone has done their best then their efforts should be thanked.
It's a shame that the enterprise hasn't paid off in the way that they had hoped, I would like to think that they can walk away with some good memories and the knowledge that they 'did their bit'. They did MORE than their bit in my opinion.
Good luck to the Cassons. Good luck to any Hornby led consortium or any other arrangement. Good luck to ANY efforts that will keep our club going at this level.
Could not have put it better myself. Excellent post
My sentiments exactly. Well said Hoss.

Is this the same guy who's been poisoning the club for years

Yeah and who pays for that from now on?
That is/was always going to be the point that underpins everything once the Cassons pulled the plug.
Accepting that mistakes were made (hindsight has always been a precise science), that people still continue to savage them now on here is outrageous and even childish.
The problem seems to be the knockers were naive and foolish enough to believe what have been described as promises in the first place, (I’d use the phrase uninformed but enthusiastic propaganda), and ultimately they feel let down as “the promises” haven’t been delivered. I repeat, more fool the knockers for believing rhetoric and hyperbole in the first place.
The Cassons were fortunate enough to be sufficiently wealthy to buy the club when it was desperately needed. They were and are genuine in their affection for the club. Inexperience let them down. They’ve had a go, using their own private funds, and it hasn’t worked out. So what? Let’s do our best to now move on.

If Cassons initial pledges at the forum were for what we have had instead of what was never to be had...would the members have actually voted to change the structure of the entire club to allow him to take over in the first place? Of course we will never know but I do not believe for one second that they would have. We were sold a dream and aside from paying OTT for a playing budget (and the title) we havent exactly had that. He didnt do his homework on running a football club and people, including me, are quite rightly resentful.

I just hope that there are no shitstorms in the fallout from this, like local businesses not being paid, or players not being paid 🤔
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.

If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

Unequivocal Yes from me. There was no alternative. A fan-owned club would never be financially viable and without a financial input from someone we would be, and will be, sunk.

Bingo wrote: Thu Oct 25, 2018 12:18 am Maybe the guy shouldn't have made such grand promises, maybe he should have invested in things in the ground to generate money and improve the match day experience. Maybe if 5 years ago we had gone to the wall and started again from scratch we would be in a better place now with more fans.. Who knows.

Promised loads delivered little

Do Barrow bluebirds Ltd still own the club? Is he selling the club and keeping the ground renting it back to the club.. All these questions need to answered
Bingo!..and is exactly why he lost the support of the town eventually. Nobody likes being lied to, the guy dished out false promises like confetti but I still do appreciate him stepping in. I do believe with Paul Hornby’s consortium this will galvanise the club, potential sponsors & suporters now.

Interesting view. There is clearly a lot of money swilling around non league football now but I believe that the club would have been sustainable albeit at a lower level to what we were used to.

I would’ve still voted for the takeover Lee. I think (when pushed) TK said there wasn’t much else on the horizon so HE would’ve voted yes in the members position.
That won’t be word perfect but it was along them lines mate.
It was common knowledge the Keens were pulling out and no one else had made any inquiries about the club other than Paul, surely that would’ve been the time for interested parties to have come forward...whether fan, consortium or single owner led.
We can’t have been far off going under, hard to even see how anything could’ve been arranged to go forward even into the next season.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Darlington became a community club in 2013 after going into administration, did well to get up to Vananrama North, but have struggled in the last two years due to lack of funds. I can't find the source at present, but believe that about 18 months ago they were appealing for someone to come forward with finance (and presumably ownership).
