We are scoring at a level higher than our league position might suggest (and have two players in the NLP Leading Scorers list, matched only by Salford).

Although the 'goals against' record isn't desperate, sloppy defending appears to have been our main problem.

Agreed. Even from those few highlights Barrow played some decent football but the finishing was powder puff including one from Sousa which was easier to score than miss following on almost immediately from what looked like a very good penalty shout. Even then, the game was lost through an awful defensive error.

I suppose it is inevitable when with a small squad we are missing our first choice 2 centre halves and 2 strikers through injury.

I wonder what a difference would have been made if Granite & Elsdon together with Turner and Blyth had been available?

No body really seems to know the full story behind Jacobs absence, I look at it this way, he's obviously not fit and when he is regarded as fit to be in the squad it will take a few games to get match sharp so will come on as sub to start with ,
I'd rather put efforts into supporting the lads that are playing week in week out and hopefully our fortunes will change in front of goal. Like a few on here have said and the highlights show the performance against ebssfleet didn't deserve the result , we are not far away from being a decent team when we score goals they are generally superb passing goals if we can add the half chances and take a couple more we are creating we'll be very good indeed because we don't take chances it leads to more and more pressure on our defence which I agree is a tad lightweight without josh granite , it'll be interesting to see if Matt elsdon can add that height and steel once he returns soon as well

Hopefully with a blank week we will have a better and fitter team on Saturday week. If they don't start putting that ball away and shoring up the defence a sizeable chunk of the crowd will stop coming. Fancy football is fine but as someone once said it's a results game, and sometimes you have to play ugly!

Just need to shoot a little more and not try and pass the ball into the net. A game where they can put a number of goals into a team would be a real confidence builder and do them the world if good

Ebbsfleet coach Daryl MacMahon left the club today by "mutual" consent a few days after a 1-0 win against BAFC. I seem to recall that Jay Saunders lost his job at Maidstone soon after a 1-0 win against BAFC.

Clearly our footballing style is impressing opposition board members to the extent that they are prepared to chuck out their managers in disgust even in victory!

In actual fact it sort of backs up what I heard at the Ground on Saturday that Ebbsfleet were encountering financial "problems" thus explaining their recent drop off in form. Same story at Maidstone. Perhaps makes the fact that we couldn't take a single point from either game having dominated both all the more disappointing.

Yeah they should just be hoofing it up the field.

Guess its about maintaining a balance. Dont want hoof ball back even if against against sides like Ebbsfleet it might actually have been effective. Having as it weapon that you occassionally use as a Plan B/C however is not breaking any textbook rules. I guess it should be stated however that as we dont have a target striker then playing long ball would probably not be that productive anyway.
