Re: Ground Maintenance Area
What we were discussing was the need (still) for some proper toilet facilities instead of just the quick fixes of hiring porta-loos.barrowfan wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 9:46 amThe mind boggles! I wish I'd been a fly on the wall.....but then again!Holkerbird wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 6:06 pm

Mark H had a walk around the ground and I showed him the areas I had quotes for off a couple of local builders a few years back.
Elaine pretty much covered everything about the morning. Great to see the TV up and running now, anyone wanting a pie & can will now be able to watch results coming in as well.
Third corporate room (The Chairmans Room) should be totally finished with it’s new spotlights, re-painted walls and pictures hung after this Sunday all ready for the very busy corporates over Christmas.
Really good to see all them jobs up there nearly finished, hopefully they’re the sort of projects that will help earn some money for the club.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: Ground Maintenance Area
I forgot to mention that a small plaque has gone up just outside the top foyer thanking several people, without their very kind donations we simply wouldn’t have been able to do any of the work in there. I think it’s worth mentioning them even if they didn’t do it for the recognition.
Dave Ingham who set the ball rolling.
The Trust.
A London based supporter (anon)
A supporter off here (anon)
A Carlisle based supporter (anon)
The NSC who made a sizeable donation.
Graphix Signs who yet again have helped us out.
A local man who has supplied us with a lot of equipment that has been used in the corporate rooms and top foyer (anon)
And Steve Leonard who agreed to sponsor us through his company - Winders Accountants.
That is a total of £1175 not including the donated materials.
Thank you all very much, as I say, without that cash we wouldn’t have been able to do a thing. If you are feeling flush
we’ll still take any donations that you feel you could spare. 100% of it will be used for materials.

Re: Ground Maintenance Area
One more visit before Christmas this Sunday if anyone has a few hours to spare. Plenty of jobs from indoor to outdoor & tidying the ground (if the weather’s ok)
Elaine can’t make it this week so if anyone is handy with a hoover, glass cleaner and duster
you’d be more than welcome.

Re: Ground Maintenance Area
You get one job finished and another (and another, and another) pop up..!
Still, a cracking morning at the ground and once again, very very well supported, I think there were well over a dozen people there (and that’s without two regulars) including mrsenarios teenage daughter who gave up her time to hoover and clean the X Bar!
Most jobs that we had been on with are basically completed but there’s still some odds and ends to finish, I’m not sure we can do that before Christmas though. Perhaps we were a bit too ambitious with what we could achieve in the time we gave ourselves, but we had to give it a go...we’ll get it all done in the NY though.
Another visit to meet people by three of the new owners (Chris Wilkes, Mark Hetherington and Paul Hornby)
We again had a walk around and spoke of priorities from supporters points of views. I think the first will be the toilet (or lack of) situation. Hopefully this could be sorted in the next month or two. Unfortunately, this’ll probably need another ground visit in two weeks time....sorry lads
Thanks (once again) to The Bob In Cafe for the bacon/sausage buns, a fantastic gesture and always appreciated.

Re: Ground Maintenance Area
The old porta-loos by the main stand should be demolished and gone by tomorrow but the area where they stood will need a good tidy up before our Christmas games so if anyone would like to help out we’ll be there from 9:00am this coming Sunday.
The new porta-loos should be in place behind the pop side for the Christmas fixtures.
Considering we only spoke with Mark H, Paul H & Kris W two weeks ago about the state of the toilets (and lack of them) that’s pretty quick work by them.
Anyway, plenty of jobs to crack on with if anyone can spare a few hours.

Re: Ground Maintenance Area
There’s some permanent toilets already over there Andy. I think the porta-loo block was just shoved in wherever they could be fit a few years back - the porta-loos were unusable anyway. The one’s going in on the pop side bring the amount of toilets needed in the ground back up to the required number.
These will be positioned a far better place for people stood on the HSE.
