Think there was 2 defenders coming across . Once again ref made some glaring mistakes.. He was consistently inconsistent. Makes a mockery really. Dan Jones' s was more likely a red.Moribund wrote: ↑Sat Dec 08, 2018 5:41 pmThe challenge that he was booked for - Jones lunged and took none of the ball and all of the man. Red would have been harsh though.Nigel Bamford wrote: ↑Sat Dec 08, 2018 5:39 pm Ian Evatt seemed to think that Dan Jones should have been sent off earlier (for what, I don't know) and because the ref bottled that one he looked for a reason 'make amends'.
The red looked correct, unless there was an obvious covering defender that I couldn't see?

Re: Barrow v Maidstone match thread
The ref was poor but wasn't applying the letter of the law as both were yellows but I think if a team had done that to us twice in the space of a couple of a minutes then we'd be wanting a red. Their keeper man-of-the-match, firstly for his 3 great saves in the first half, secondly for gifting us our goal and thirdly for sportingly putting it out of play with the last kick of the match instead of hoofing it up into our penalty-area. The crowd, or lack of it is a real concern.

Good effort today. Difficult conditions. The opposition were really poor though and we were the better team from first to last. Totally different style of football from earlier in the season, and more solid and effective. Back 3 is really working, but can only play that if Blythe stays effective. He had a good game today, as they all did really. A fair sending off as I saw it. Could have been Jones a bit earlier as someone has said. Going in the right direction.

Absolutely shocking, right in front of the ref as well....the warning signs were there from KO but he refused to take any action and the end result is a player (apparently) losing teeth and possibly a broken jaw. That ref is an embarrassment, how he’s still officiating at all is amazing.prague bluebird wrote: ↑Sat Dec 08, 2018 3:21 pm Sounds like Maidstone are trying to force Taylor out of the game, one way or another.
Their keeper played a blinder, on another day we could’ve had two or three goals, fair play to him if he’s a reserve keeper.
Blyth was very unlucky, played well throughout despite taking a bad knock. He was pulled back by one of their players during the double save early on....no surprise the ref and liners missed it though.
Another very poor attendance, the club won’t be able to keep hold of the players they want to next season at this rate. Bad weather, Christmas around the corner...they can have all the excuses they want but without people attending games we’re going to struggle next season.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: Barrow v Maidstone match thread
Thought BARROW played some great football considering the conditions so glad we beat Maidstone some of the things that went on off the ball were shocking the officials were clueless.
As for the red card I said at the time it was because of Jones I thought he should have gone if not for the tackle then for taking him out when he was going for goal.
The crowd well what can you say if you criticise them on here you get slaughtered usually by people who rarely go !

Wouldn't put Johnson in charge of a zebra crossing.
every time I see his name in the programme I fear the worst. not good enough at this level, been around for years and still as bad as ever, how does a player lose 3 / 4 teeth get a suspected broken jaw and the ref still not see it ! as for Maidstone nothing more than a pub team !

Re: Barrow v Maidstone match thread
Another clean sheet and 3 pts
Barrow deserved their victory and we should of won more comfortably.
We outplayed them in both halves and went on to win with a poachers goal from a dreadful goalkeeping mistake
Maidstone made 8 changes to the team and you could tell. Looked like they had targeted Taylor with repeated efforts to hurt him
Good to see so many different opinions on the 4 big issues.
1. Jones for me should of been a red card. After giving the ball away took him out completely.
2. Norrington Davies yellow. Professional foul but not clean through on goal as 2 other defenders there.
3 Taylor. Assaulted on a football pitch. Hope we have the evidence
4.'referee was shocking. Made poor decisions all day long and got all the main ones wrong !!!!
Jameson MOM for me. Not a big fan of his but thought he was superb yesterday....
Maidstone. Just a bunch of thugs and I hope they go down. Take your shitty plastic pitch with you....

Not just the referee but the other 3 officials were as bad. We all saw the Tayls incident. What was Kemys booking for?. Moving the ball forward past a white line that wasn't there.

Love the Maidstone fans giving Smith the fingers when he celebrates in front of them!saltcellar wrote: ↑Mon Dec 10, 2018 1:06 pm |MATCH HIGHLIGHTS:

Also, a very good tactical foul by ND, he took that card for the 3 points. Reminds me of a Solksjaer foul years ago Man Utd v Newcastle

I thought the highlights might have included the Taylor incident unless it wasn't caught on camera.
It all comes 'round again.

Maybe it's to be used in evidence.Nigel Bamford wrote: ↑Mon Dec 10, 2018 1:51 pm I thought the highlights might have included the Taylor incident unless it wasn't caught on camera.

I wasn't at that the game so can only use the tv footage, I can't see anything wrong with the challenge. it didn't look malicious, it was clumsy at bestmr_grey wrote: ↑Mon Dec 10, 2018 1:58 pmMaybe it's to be used in evidence.Nigel Bamford wrote: ↑Mon Dec 10, 2018 1:51 pm I thought the highlights might have included the Taylor incident unless it wasn't caught on camera.
