If Kemi wants to play for us, he should grow a pair and get rid/change agents. It's an infuriating situation for the player and our club.

Must say that Evatt seems to be very sensitive and lashes out at the very people he should be praising instead of trying to blame them for the players' deficiencies.
He seems to have an element of insecurity, criticising radio commentary and the crowd.

Don’t agree with that, he’s been very upfront with his praise of support in the past, this time he just felt a little let down by “some” comments....it’s an honest opinion and its refreshing to hear. Same as the Kemy situation, how many times do we hear a manager cover up the things that have happened? this time we’ve been told exactly how things have panned out...Again, it’s refreshing to hear a manager speak like this in my opinion.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Fair do's. I agree with your sentiments. I suppose it's difficult coming on the radio so soon after the game when emotions are running high Such comments show his passion for the club, and as you say his honesty and plain speaking is to be applauded.

IE IS A Rookie manager who in a difficult job, has done well for Barrow afc. However his inexperience does show with his recent comments reference fans, and in other ways. I would have liked to hear more like o/k we were poor, but we will try to be better next match. Change fans views, more chance turning water into wine. I am concerned about his apparent lack of concern for the teams discipline , we have the second worst record in the fair play national league. With fifty six yellow cards and five reds. We simply cannot afford the suspensions that follow. :skill:

olefogey wrote: Sun Jan 20, 2019 5:32 pm All very well talking about breaking down defence with clever passes, but there weren't any, we simply played sideways and backwards for most of the game! I applaud Ian Evatts intentions, but in this particular game there was just no end product, and he would have done better to acknowledge that rather than criticise fans for showing understandable frustration at the lack of chances created.
In many ways this is the whole point about home support. Away it’s without question, however the team play, and the support is magnificent. I saw it with my own eyes on New Years Day, and I’ve seen it elsewhere. Against Fylde away we hardly created any chances, but the intensity of support was uncompromising and present throughout.
At home it seems much more capricious and it might be very much performance related. Almost the Coliseum mentality where there is a demand to be entertained, and the players are fair game if they don’t produce. My only point is maybe as a crowd we shouldn’t get on the back of the team so quickly, irrespective of whether they are playing well, or more particularly when they are playing badly. Can’t see any harm in dishing out stick if they aren’t trying, but if that’s not the case, maybe as true supporters, we should be more encouraging, or at the very least, less noisy in our attacks on individuals.

Agents trying to put the blame on the club now

"Agustien's agency, Premier Global Sports Management, have disputed Evatt's, and the Bluebirds', views on events and are considering taking legal action.

They tweeted on Saturday morning: "No @KemyAgustien in players (sic) line ups today, all who not heard negotiatons collapsed regarding the contract with @BarrowAFC on CLUB side and not our side as Barrow has said.

"When Kemy's joined his new club next week as we are negotiating now, the TRUTH will be told.""

Who are these fools ? I back club on this

I think Evatt shows his naivety and aroganance ,the way he critised John Goodwin after a game and has a go at the fans.
I am not meaning that as a criticism but he is just starting off and I am sure he will adjust as time goes on.

I have no doubt the agent mucked the club about and let's be honest the club is getting better at communicating things as and when required.

I can see Ian giving the agent both barrels as and when the agent tried to manovoure the club into obtaining more cash.

Kemy may obtain more cash which we all want but will he be as happy at the next club.

First time post so be gentle.

I think there needs to be a little realism with the Kent situation.

Since the a managers honest (which I love) interview I have been doing some research on his agency.

They tweeted about a number of their players this weekend.

Players are at the following clubs

Carshalton Athletic
Hastings United
Merthyr Town
Bromsgrove Sporting
Steeton AFC
Chippenham Town
East Thurrock
Liverton Town
Concord Rangers

And they have represent a player who is banned (2 years) for taking Cocaine.

When have you heard an agent tweeting to meet fans in the bar? Tweeting about the owners giving a new contract to Kemy.

They have conducted all their business in public which is very rare, no tweets about any football league players this weekend.

Before Kemy arrived he couldn’t get in the Nuneaton team that was bottom of the league.

I believe his agency are chances and their twitter confirms it for me.

Evatt has to make his own decisions as a manager but I can't help thinking if he'd paid those bills that the agency asked for it wouldn't have cost a great deal and we would now have Kemy as a player.
Not morally right I know, and I will get shot down for it but just looking at it in the cold light of day.
I understand that Kemy and Evatt had a telephone conversation on Friday night and Kemy was extremely upset as he wanted to come back to Barrow.

I think a few folk are overreacting in terms of the comments on Saturday about the fans. He prefaced it by saying the fans had been great all season and he was disappointed that the players got stick rather than encouragement on Saturday. That’s fair comment in my eyes. Now, given the inherent gloominess that resides within most Barrow fans he’s not going to get 90 minutes of singing and positivity especially when we’re not playing well but he’s within his rights to ask for supporters to encourage the team, surely?

As for the agents...if we paid these add-ons, what next? Do we feed them? Clothe them? Pay their phone bills? They should have asked for a flat figure up front for Kemy’s wage and then sorted out any incidentals between themselves.

Players with agents at the some of the above clubs show how much these cretins have ruining even the lower league game now.

Regarding IE’s comments, I’d be more worried if he didn’t want the fans support at home. Absolutely nothing wrong with him giving his opinion, folk give thers of him enough.

The issue is not really whether Barrow supporters are miserable b*st*rds and don't react with enthusiasm to a dour stodgy display. It's not even the prospect of some not turning up next time after watching such a display. Its the fact that 1000+ of them couldn't be a*sed to turn up to the game in the first place having had one the best displays served to them on a plate at the last home game. That would seriously p*ss me off as a manager. Damned if you do, damned if you dont.
