Hmmm, sounded ominously like a perimeter wall being plannedThink someone went mad with it in the early 90’s and built breezeblock walls everywhere. Getting rid of it all pitch side and replacing with modern pitch side perimter fencing would improve the ground ten times over.

Heard they were thinking about knocking them old ruins down at the Abbey so there may be plenty of sandstone available soon. People are more interested in going to view the Abbey Road working mens club ruins these days by all accounts.

We’ve been looking into that for a couple of years Jonty, we’ve recently switched our thoughts from breeze block to perimeter fencing.
You need to reacquaint yourself with a Sunday morning visit and you’d catch up on all of this 😁 besides, I’m seriously worried about our other expert litter picker who was swearing at a sweet wrapper that kept blowing away from him last week...
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Was this sweet wrapper on the popular side to the right of the steps coming in? If so, I know who it was and I’ll reprimand him.

:D

It might’ve set off there but with that wind on Sunday it probably ended up by the town hall.

If it did there will be a bill involved. Not something you can sweep under the carpet are sweet wrappers!

Nice to see some humour return to the forum. There used to be good humoured banter on here but sadly it lost it's way. Scottyb was a good one for that. Where is he now?

There’ll be another ground visit this Sunday (even for the ones who haven’t replied to e-mails 🤨)
9:00 am start and as usual, jobs for all & any age.

Many thanks to all who have donated either tools, equipment, materials and more importantly, money this week. It’ll all be put to good use and not wasted.

A big thank you to capman who is coming down Sunday morning to help make safe the area in front of the pop side toilets and is donating all the materials needed.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Superb offer from Edmundsons Electrical (Barrow) who have supplied the lighting for the players tunnel.
This will be installed in the morning.
Another great gesture from a local business.

Not forgetting the gentleman who has helped us out so much with other electrical items in the last few months, and is about to once again. Without these sort of offers we simply could not carry on as we'd end up spending our kitty on the items that have been donated, plus what has been donated is of a far superior quality to what we would've been buying.

We'd love a bit of that sort of investment Mike....! The pot will be empty within a month or two & then that'll be that. If anyone has any ideas that could help us top up our funds then please get in touch as it really is moving quite quickly towards "desperate"

I'll sell one of my kidneys for a hefty donation Mark. It has been well maintained over the 77 years I have had it.
