Re: Ground Maintenance Area
Maybe at one point there is nothing i wouldn't do for our club, whilst i am massively behind the New ownership and people involved in the club, l find one or two out for them selfs and selfish and not trust worthy, i will gladly offer my skills and time once they [SwearFilter] off as won't be there till thay [SwearFilter] off, which is a massive shame as love our club and feel like others are there because of money, hope you leave so i can crack on

Re: Ground Maintenance Area
From what I have seen the owners are probably better off avoiding shoddy workmanship from Wetherspoons regulars. Good riddance and get yourself to The Universe Megadome or the Giant Axe you trouble maker.Barrowabc wrote: ↑Sat Feb 02, 2019 11:19 pm Maybe at one point there is nothing i wouldn't do for our club, whilst i am massively behind the New ownership and people involved in the club, l find one or two out for them selfs and selfish and not trust worthy, i will gladly offer my skills and time once they [SwearFilter] off as won't be there till thay [SwearFilter] off, which is a massive shame as love our club and feel like others are there because of money, hope you leave so i can crack on
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.
If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

Re: Ground Maintenance Area
Well, erm back to the good stuff...
Thanks to all who helped out today, a very healthy 13 or 14.
Our professional litter picker was back on top form and has recovered from his swearing at sweet wrapper episode.
Looks like oldbarrafancumbak has found the problem of mysterious water leak in the refs changing room, hopefully that’ll be sorted in the coming weeks.
Pop side toilets are virtually finished, I think at one point we had five people working on them at one time! Many thanks to Andy (capman) who with his mate donated his time and materials to help fill in with concrete the unsafe are in front of the toilets.
Thanks to a very kind donation of an LED light off Edmundsons the players tunnel is now better lit than it ever has been and won’t need constant fixing as the old one did.
The area in the garage corner which was continually leaking water onto that corner of the pitch and causing all sorts of problems for Gareth has now been sorted. Exile & Gareth put in some new guttering and down pipes to direct the water away. Just to give an idea of how our money is spent and how quickly it can go, that job alone cost us £67 in materials.
Elaine gave the cleaners cupboard a clean
TBH, it was a full mornings job, it’d just become a dumping space.
There are now more bins dotted around the ground including three more in the main stand, it’d really help the club if people could walk the short distances to use them.
Donations, thank you to a member of Elaine’s family for donating £50. The club (PH) reimbursed us for the money spent on cleaning products and tools. The LED light. The wheelie & normal bins. The sand & cement. The sledgehammer. And today Dave Ayers dropped some electrical tools off and a very handy ladder/platform.
Not bad at all for one weeks worth of donations.
One more thank you, The Bob In Cafe once again supplied all the breakfast buns. He’s done this every week we’ve been down for the last three months. A fantastic gesture by them.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Just in the car park please, if possible just let the girls in the reception know it’s for us and they’ll put it away until we can find somewhere for it.Big E wrote: ↑Sun Feb 03, 2019 5:45 pmI'll drop it off - where's best to leave it? Re: Ground Maintenance Area
That cleaning cupboard was full of junk!!!! 4 pairs of ladies wellington boots for starters. Empty paint tins, various gloves----how many people with one hand have access to it? Anything that was of no use or broken had been dumped in there to such an extent you could not get into it. In fact the only thing missing was anything to do with cleaning products!!!!! 3 large bin bags of rubbish removed. It was exhilarating.
Last time I had such a rubbish clearing event cost me £150 as I threw out an old ice bath which never got used and then DB asked where it was. New one bought by me which also never got used---the the pump did for blowing up footballs.
Great to see everyone busy and the jobs slowly getting sorted. I think once the basic repair and renewal work is done the cosmetic stuff will begin (better weather too hopefully) and fans will see a difference.
It is a long road we travel. Onward and Upward.

Re: Ground Maintenance Area
I monitor this thread and have to say full credit to the people who give up their time on a weekly basis to make the ground as presentable as possible. Also the generosity of people in giving donations/equipment/materials/food.
Give yourselves a massive pat on the back as I'm sure it is appreciated by the owners and fans alike.

Soon be starting them breeze block walls.....
Only Jonty coming down can stop this
