I wouldn't put money on it...

He's done a superb job! We're playing better football than we have been for some time and we've consolidated our position in the NL when relegation was expected. And he's done this on a very limited budget.

Who can blame Rochdale or any other club for approaching him? And who could blame Ian for leaving? He'd be moving one step up the footballing pyramid with a chance to shine at a higher level. Any manager with ambition would do the same...

Good luck, Ian.

He has ambition, and so do we. This is a new era for the club, with new board and a young progressive manager, we are not exactly standing still or going the wrong way here. We are striving to challenge at the top and he has the core of a squad here to go the next step. Evatt has a chance to shape the future of the football club and develop his managerial skills with us. Next season is massive in the development of Ian Evatt and Barrow AFC. He has 100% backing from the new board, all in this together as one team, fans, board, manager, team. Perfect storm brewing.

Just adding the balance of why he might want to stay

My opinion is he’d leave Barrow if a league club wanted him. I think any ambitious non-league manager would do the same.

Good post. Although you really wouldn’t blame IE for taking the Rochdale job if offered it thers plenty of positive reasons for him staying.

Any manager that does well 'here' is always going to move on-we aint fashionable and we aint got the money-nothing complicated about that is there. In other words, league two for us is just a pipe dream, its mentioned every now and again because it helps keep people interested !.

I genuinely feel our manager has aspirations of achieving league football with us. IF the board can match his expectations and back him in bringing in the players he craves within the budget then I remain hopeful he would give it another season and stay! His stock is growing all the time and will continue to do so.
But ultimately hope is all we have!

No doubt, doing well = doors open. At Barrow, Evatt has the full backing of the new board, has found his feet in his first season and now has an opportunity to help build a club (club starting a new era) without pressures of instant success (that perhaps was an unrealistic expectation of Casson on previous managers) and that the people around the club now are very much part of making it a place you want to be. He’s just starting out in management and if he does well at Barrow next season (which I think he can do) then that will raise his stock even more and he’ll get other opportunities no doubt about it.

We are at the start of something here and he has convinced me watching the side and his approach. We all know where we need to improve, but if he stays he can get us into the top 7 next season.

Talk seems to have died down today. Fingers crossed that's a positive sign!
