I'm not sure what was going on in the away end in the second half and I appreciate that emotions were running high etc but to be singled out; started on by one of your own fans and to be accused of being an undercover police officer (which is a laughable concept in itself) was well out of order to say the very least. Me and the poor bloke stood next to me were just minding our own business watching the game, I've never experienced anything like this before following Barrow, we are better than this and an apology wouldn't go amiss at the next away game.

Was always going to be a tough start against a team that will be around the play offs/challenging for the title.

Positives are we got in the positions to hurt them first half and with more composure would have put the game beyond Wrexham the same way we did last season.

Defensively we gave away two very poor goals and that is what concerns me as we cone up against a very tall striker in Beck on Tuesday night.

Seasons however are not defined by how you do in August so everyone just needs to remain calm.

Overall, we should've got a point but the first half and second half performances were like chalk and cheese

First half, two golden chances towards the end of the half that we should've put away and then its a different game. The first one, I felt the through ball should've gone the other way to Hardcastle who had a better angle than Angus. The second one, it came to Quigley quite quickly but you have to score those.

Second half, we were very poor defensively and uncharacteristically gave the ball away a lot when in possession. Centre half is a worry, both of them and in particular Granite got bullied yesterday and were not able to stand up to it. We kept playing the ball out of defence through Hird, and didn't seem to work out that his passes were going astray at least 50% of the time (something only matched by Pearson doing the same at the other end).

Frustrating, and at half time you just knew missing those chances would come back to haunt us. First half I saw enough to remain optimistic, but second half did give some food for thought.

Agree with Kieran in the main. Some good football first half where we weren't troubled much and carved out opportunities that should have seen us in full control at the break.

Goal apart, Granite was repeatedly out-muscled in the second half. Hird however was worse, taking no responsibility for anything or anyone. His body language is awful as he seems to be constantly pointing the finger and looking for a scapegoat elsewhere.

Let's see how we do in the two home games but a centre half with strength and pace a necessity regardless

Firstly I thought we would get a draw 2-2 .
I think people need a reality check.
We probably have one of the lowest budgets in this league.
The friendlys showed the gaps in defence and after being beaten by Furness Players ,we go and play Lancaster who cut through our defence.
Ian Evatt keeps saying he needs a CH but it all will be subject to money there is only a certain amount you can do to convince a player to join without the lure of cash.
I really liked Harrison and we will see what happens but sometimes players never reproduce the firm originally shown,i.e Barry Diamond but it's worth a punt.
Scot Quigley time will tell.
We just have to be patient hope we get that elusive FA Cup game to bring some cash in.
In such a short time since the takeover we have come a along way.
Let's see where we are after 10 games

If Angus scores on the stroke of half time - as he should have done - and it would have been a great goal - it’s game over. He should have scored earlier on on a 1 on 1 and also missed a golden opportunity at the end of the second half. Very frustrating. Good news is that fullbacks were excellent, midfield solid - though Hardcastle had an off day - Greaves looked good when he came on. Can’t fault Granite’s endeavour but he was / is just not big enough or quick enough - . Joel Dixon outstanding again. Jury out on Quigley. Still lots of good things .

That was my concern pre-season. No doubt IE is aware of it and he intended to bring in Sam Graham, only to be given 'back-word' (as my Dad used to say) at the last minute. Apparently our key weakness and I am sure IE will sort it out. As he said post-match, though, he isn't going to panic and rush into a poor signing.

You think? I thought Barry did OK but Brough was awful. Slow, weak, got caught out of position a lot and gave posession away too often second half.

We have conceded these sort of goals all through the years with every centre half pairing we’ve had, BUT, so do other teams, watch the National league highlights and you will see that. I suppose they all need stronger Centre Halfs?
To cut it out, you need to stop the ball it coming into the box in the first place. We need to be snapping into players as soon as they take it wide in our half. I’d rather a player be skinned trying to stop a cross than make no tackle at all and stand off watching the ball.

Funny old day really, not always in a good way. With regards to the match, we simply got punished for not taking our chances when we had them chasing shadows. CH required, all know this.

Wrexham was a bit more Wrexhamy than it had been for a while re stewarding and a few other things. I thought we've been better as a support, in terms of backing with a third of the numbers. But the way we conceded early then dropped into a torpor, plus whatever the argument was about, maybe affected this. First game, on we go.

He didn’t look too slow when he raced 80 yards up the pitch and presented Angus with a golden opportunity, do you think ?

Did not go the game, so going off commentary, limited highlights and the reports off here. By all accounts, both teams had good chances to score, both teams conceded headers in the box. We will get better and I am sure Wrexham will too. The point is, Wrexham are alway fancied to do well, we are hoping to break into that top 7 this season and from what i can gather there was not much between the teams. Let’s see how we are after 6 games. I maintain though, that we will always be vulnerable at the back with any centre halfs until we get better at stopping that ball coming into the box. That starts further up the pitch.

Plenty of positives in that first half but also plenty of things to iron out! We must kill off teams when the opportunity presents itself.
The way we were like rabbits caught in headlights once their equaliser went in was the biggest concern even our most reliable players from last season lost their composure with the ball.
Not time to panic yet take stock put a few wrongs right and strengthen where the manager has already stated we need to do so.
