John Goodwin
John Goodwin
After watching the game I got into the car and switched on RC. Caught the tail-end of John Goodwin defending himself for something he had said.
Anyone know what it was?

Re: John Goodwin
He speaks sense.
Unable to be in Barrow last night so listened to the radio. Clear description by Adam Johnston and thoughtful analysis by John Goodwin. Appreciated. Last night, however, they ultimately made for difficult listening.

Re: John Goodwin
Think basically he was saying that Barrow fans might just think he was being negative but he wasn’t he was just summing the game up as he saw it which is his job
Re: John Goodwin
Absolutely! He tells it like it is.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 7:21 am Think basically he was saying that Barrow fans might just think he was being negative but he wasn’t he was just summing the game up as he saw it which is his job
Uncomfortable listening for some no doubt but the truth hurts.

Re: John Goodwin
John 'that's why he's playing at this level' Goodwin
I like his analysis though - he tends to tell it as it is. Got him in trouble with IE last year!

Goodwin is excellent but tells the truth which some supporters find uncomfortable.

Re: John Goodwin
I’ve always found John very good to listen to and always says it as it is! Some commentators just praise there own team all the time! What’s wrong with saying negative things about your team? End of the day if there shite , there shite and need telling!

Re: John Goodwin
I think he does a good job. If he makes negative comments it’s because most of the home performances have been pretty dire lately.
If you look at the last 3 seasons we don’t even come close to winning 50% of our home games in the league. Don’t know what’s happened to Fortress Holker Street.

It's not a fortress these days; it's a sandcastle on the beach at Biggar Bank.
Re: John Goodwin
Not many teams will have a 50% win record over three seasons, unless they have consistently finished top 7.AugustusCorpa wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 4:47 pm If you look at the last 3 seasons we don’t even come close to winning 50% of our home games in the league. I know. I’m talking specifically about our home games. You’ve got to be winning most of your home games to get anywhere. We don’t.Moribund wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 5:06 pmNot many teams will have a 50% win record over three seasons, unless they have consistently finished top 7.AugustusCorpa wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 4:47 pm If you look at the last 3 seasons we don’t even come close to winning 50% of our home games in the league. Re: John Goodwin
I'm talking about home games too - you have to be in and around the playoffs to register a 50% home win record - it rarely happens for anyone outside the top 7/8. The Fortress Holker Street thing is probably a myth anyway - aside from the promotion season, I bet our record has always been at best about 8-10 wins at home per season for the past decade.AugustusCorpa wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 5:39 pmI know.
