I love the football we try and play and for that I am thankful to Evatt. Unfortunately when rooney went off he brings greaves on and hes virtually the same player as hardcastle. I really fell waddington should have come on bit more of a presence in there and hardcastle could have played in the hole getting between the lines as he does best. We have undoubted quality but are unable to score goals, harrison holds it well, brings others into play with nice touches if the wingers he brings into play arent prolific goalscorers (which they arent) we are going to struggle (harrison himself not being a prolific goalscorer). Hindle isn't as technically gifted as the options we have but is more of a goalscorer I can see why evatt doesn't play him but he will score more goals than kay will over a season (not that I think he is better). On a positive I thought Platt looked very solid and brough had his best game in a Barrow shirt so far. I'm positive we can have a decent year but the play offs are a pipe dream a possibly a cup run would be nice. Keep the faith, up the barrow!

 Absolutely gutted, plenty of effort from those out on the pitch but sadly no end product. Certainly no luck either things are certainly conspiring against us at the minute. We struggled to break them down in the final third but credit to Hartlepool as they got bodies behind the ball and held their shape well.
First penalty shout second half looked nailed on but for whatever reason it was waved away.
We defended well in the main except for twice when our high line was caught on the counter first time we were lucky because not only was their player flagged for off side but they made a hash of it anyway second time they were clinical and we are left licking our wounds again.

Very hard work being a regular supporter at the moment. In some ways my own fault, because I believed the pre season propaganda that we were going to be a force to be reckoned with. Looking like a relegation battle already.
Yes, we play attractive football, but not in the important areas of the pitch. There are cries of "we need a striker", but we don't create in the vicinity of the goal...At the back we looked better with Platt in, but he made the very costly error......Exasperating. We have been better than most teams, but pretty much been beaten by all of them. I know you make your own luck, but we aren't a lucky side...
Don't really like rubbishing individuals, but it's not happening for Harrison at the moment.

There were 3 or 4 inviting crosses tonight that a decent striker could've attacked at the near post. We are missing a poacher.

Blaming referees is great score 3 and they don't score and its simple you win the game. What worries me is Evatts said in his mind we will be near or amongst the play offs at the start off the season. On current form we are going down. Now I know bravdo and what not can come out and say I think we can finish higher than what I believe. We have a massive problem and I could nt care if at half time we have won so many games at full time we have nt. Evatt should be twitching now not having a decent CB is his fault we can score goals but not proper CB is costing us. The pressure is on at current form we are going down. Go down lose money lower attendances club dies IMO serious times sort it out. The 1500 crowds are dead and gone brutally and honest through death. You look at holker street it might not be accurate but 50% must be 50 plus we need to connect with the youth or our club may die never mind the results have a walk through the wilkie and see.
All opinions expressed are my own , not here to cause kick off just enact debate.

We played well tonight and didn’t deserve to lose.Credit to Hartlepool though, they came for the draw and were well drilled in getting back into shape every time they lost the ball, which made it really hard for us to break them down. When we had the ball they were quite happy to let us have it and only really competed for it when we got into their defensive 3rd!

Unfortunately some bad play from us, and a whole lot of luck for Hartlepool, meant their only real chance in the game resulted in their best player being 1-on-1 with Dixon and he finished well. Their 7 was the best player on the pitch by a long way and we could do with someone like that!

Shame Rooney went off, just before that he’d had two really good shots saved well, the 2nd being a really well worked corner! I also thought Platt had a decent debut and i think he’ll be a regular starter for the rest of the season. Perhaps it’s time to got back to 3 centre halves and try to stop this losing streak for a few games?

We do seem obsessed with playing a passing game though and I’d like to see us go a bit more direct in the last 20 mins of games, especially when we’re losing. Harrison is great playing with his back to goal so we should use that more when needs must!

No need to hit the panic button just yet, but grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory is becoming a worrying habbit!

Think since he was injured playing against Lincoln never been the same player, hence moved on by other clubs.
We have been making the same mistakes since pre season a time when it should of been sorted but this maybe down to financial resources that we have brought players not good enough.

yet another nearly performance and a game we should have won.
Another useless set of officials who still refuse to give Barrow penalties - no exaggerating, but that must be 10 or more we should have had this season...
Did anyone else notice that the referee let Hartlepool play in a kit that clashed with his own top - if you can't get right what hope have you for anything else....
Harrison and Angus are both desperate for a goal however scrappy and both will improve when they get it - being a goalscorer seams to be 50% instinct/ability and 50% confidence.
Lancashire;- born and bred

Poor . Second half we never looked like scoring. Inevitable mistake and if you can’t score , you can’t win .
Total lack of penetration and when we go behind
it’s pretty much all over. Taylor worked his socks off as usual. Lack of creativity when Rooney went off. Hardcastle struggling. Angus will never score. Platt did well apart from the goal. Hindle can score. Get him in the side before it’s too late. We had a similar spell in October last season. Need to change now.

3 centre backs sounds a great idea but not if it means moving Taylor back there again; we did well last year because he was still in midfield to cover when the wing backs got forward, you lose that when he starts at centre back
Thought Dyson looked promising last night whereas Angus didn’t really get involved when he came on. Sadly at the moment Hardcastle doesn’t look the same player as last year either

Fine lines as the saying goes. If we'd scored one more or conceded one less in every game we would be in a play-off place with 14 points and just one defeat. Also though of little relevance to us three of the pre-season promotion favourites Wrexham,Chesterfield and Fylde all with far bigger budgets than ours are currently going through a similar bad patch and cannot buy a win.

First half was good, some decent play and made it hard for them to get the ball. A great save by their keeper who denied us being a goal up. I thought as we hadn't scored first half, we might just have hung in there and grabbed a winner but the team just looked flat second half. Is it fitness, is it confidence, is it the weather? Something just not right when it comes to second halfs!! Perhaps keep them out during the break and keep them moving? 🤔
I don't think the way we play suits Harrison, he is great breaking from the half way line and running on or that back to goal. The crosses are happening but not enough and not right, the attackers are too far up and often ball is played behind them, is it the attackers fault or the cross? Is it just timing? Defence looked better, and quite calm, no silly mistake or rash decisions being made. Taylor ran his socks off but why was it Taylor running on to a loose ball heading for a.one on one with their keeper and not Harrison? Its like Harrison isn't sharp enough yet.. I still don't think it's time to panic, I still believe we have something good and it's luck, hard work, confidence and decent officials!! Oh..and a decent backing from is lot.. keep the faith everyone, it's only September!!
