This is the key point. Today’s Game

"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

I'm almost certain our club would have sorted something out !Jonty wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2019 5:32 pmThis is the key point. Re: Today’s Game
There should be a requirement by the league that a club's travel plan should demonstrate that they have allowed for an arrival no later than (eg) 3 or 4 hours before kick off. It is not unreasonable to expect a team to arrive in Barrow by 12 noon, especially if travelling by rail. It even makes sense for the away team as it would allow for some exercise after a long journey.

Rumours in the crossbar were that they were offered travel home after the game

Exactly, no one deserves that from any club and he's tarnishing what reputation we have as good barrow fans, effects us in longstead rather than good status.LewisBAFC1901 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2019 5:31 pmHooligan trying to spark trouble have a day off , clearly just a bellend with no idea and clearly ain’t a afc fan

Re: Today’s Game
Wow... That is quite a statement!
So we know the message on Twitter happened. Nobody is shocked at the amount of brain dead [SwearFilter] social media attracts and whatever was said there was clearly no need for... but what about the rest? Any truth in any of that? Why would a Barrow official try to get on the supporters coach? And if the kit man and supporters can get here why can’t the team?!
The whole thing is a joke and that statement stinks of arse covering cause they [SwearFilter] up.

Tis all he said she said at the minute and barrow fans and officials know that, in protest just don't give any money to Dover on away days. Simple as.John_Bucks wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2019 5:56 pm Wow... That is quite a statement!

Re: Today’s Game
Our official asked their supporters coach organiser if thwy would be happy for the players to travel back with them. They said yes as there was only 18 on the bus.Baxterj732 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2019 5:42 pmRumours in the crossbar were that they were offered travel home after the game
This whole episode from Dover can for me can be summed up in 2 words. Disrespectful and Uprofessional.
Disrespectful to the league, sponsors etc, to Barrow AFC and our fans but especially to their own travelling group who made it in plenty of time. Disrepectful also to the poor soul who took his own life by constantly using it as an excuse for their failure to complete the journey and accept their own responsibility.
Unprofessional by being happy to gamble on the chance of catching the last possible train out of London and chancing their luck on Notwork Fail, Virgin and Northern Rail being able to run a service to time.
Yes I accept an overnight stay and coach are expensive but sometimes you have to BUDGET properly and for perhaps the furthest game you will travel all season where all manner of problems can occur, you need to be responsible, suck up the extra cost and balance your budget by, I don't know, paying your players slightly less?
What is most gutting for me about the whole day is not the money or momentum lost. Once again we have hyped up a Barrow game into a frenzy, encouraged thousands of floating and newbie fans to come along and give the team their hard won support and the opportunity to build the fanbase is snatched away from us. Usually it is our own teams lacklustre performance that does that, but today it is the pennypinching lack of professionalism from a fellow club.

Re: Today’s Game
Pay the ticket price to support the boys because its not our fault... but don't put any money to their bar or refreshment facilities, find pubs elsewhere before and after the gameCH BAFC wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2019 5:59 pmTis all he said she said at the minute and barrow fans and officials know that, in protest just don't give any money to Dover on away days. Re: Today’s Game
That statement would be worthy of the KGB propaganda department. Dover sound like they were all so overcome by the suicide of a stranger that they could not possibly continue their journey. Spin is so 90s.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

ABSOLUTELY agree, nothing to do with us as we bent over backwards to get the game on, but yeah massive unprofessionalism from an away team.Richard Ingham wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2019 6:00 pmOur official asked their supporters coach organiser if thwy would be happy for the players to travel back with them.
