Agree with you on this Jonty, he might be finished as a player at this level but until he’s used for more than ten minutes at the end of games we’re not really going to know. Trouble is he’s not going to get more than this with us on this run (and rightly so) I would absolutely love him to grab us a couple of late goals though.
The game this weekend should give him an opportunity to show IE he’s worth holding onto.

I bet Harrison is really chuffed that you have ended his career at our level Ian. His xmas card is on it's way to you wishing you well also.

It's absoloutly paramount that Platt remains with the team for the rest of the season, worst case scenario is that Blackburn realise that NL is a stroll for him, recall him and loan him out to a League one or two club.
It's also vital that Joel Dixon remains at the club, he has been fantastic this seaon & has now grown into the best keeper in this league.

I see today that there's speculation that Man City will recall centre back Adarabioyo from Blackburn in January. I hope that doesn't mean Blackburn recalling Platt.

Huge blow to the chances of winning the league if he leaves unless a very good replacement comes in although, if White stays, Taylor would be a decent replacement in central defence.

No chance would they think Platt is better off in a struggling League 2 team than a top Conference team where he is happy.

Leaving Barrow and going to Carlisle is definitely a step in the wrong direction. It would be nearly as bad as going to Morecambe. I can’t see him going, certainly not to a league two club.

Staying at Barrow and fighting for the Championship in a difficult league as part of a setup that appears to be well-thought-out in terms of player development might be as attractive a player-development for Rovers as it appears to be for the player, with a possible League One move in the summer.

Do the players have any say at all regarding their loan spells? I'm sure if platt does have my say, he would surely like to get a promotion in senior football on to his CV? So long as Blackburn don't overrule of course but do Blackburn actually need platt back right now? How many other cbs do they have? How high in pecking order is platt to them?

as Ruins said earlier in the thread they have Mulgrew on loan at Wigan and if they take a CB back he's likely to be their 1st choice as he's played at a higher level. Blackburn (and Sheff United) seam very happy in the way their players are getting improved by us whilst they are here.
As for Carlisle watching Blackburns U23 side because players may become available for loan - they can watch all they want - Platt's not playing for the U23's at present - he's playing for us.

Er… I'm not sure where the "not working for Tyler Smith" comes from. His next stay at Doncaster was far from being a failure. If you're still in doubt take a look at yesterdays highlights between Ipswich and Bristol Rovers. First Rovers goal scored by one Tyler Smith. Bristol Rovers are a League One club I believe. We are partly responsible for that.

Of course I realise he's playing for us but it would be naive to think that him and/or White wouldn't come up in any conversations/negotiations. Wouldn't be surprised either if our friends at RC (North) haven't dropped a word in the managers' ear re capabilities.

I'd be surprised if Blackburn would send him to a team near the bottom of Division 2 like Carlisle where the standard is probably not as good as that of a team at the top of the National League and I don't believe there are many, if any, teams in Division 2 or even Division 1 for that matter that play the type of football Ian Evatt has brought out of the Barrow players which is much nearer to the type of football played in the Championship. However, it wouldn't greatly surprise me if Platt moved to a Division 1 side.

What would the Carlisle-based Radio Cumbria presenters know about Platt or White? They won't have seen either of them play. And I doubt Carlisle would send their scouts to watch Blackburn U23s if the players they have their eye on aren't playing.

White could feasibly be a target because he was wanted by them in the summer - but that would have nothing to do with any of the above.
