All that then the article closes by saying "There's no indication that Evatt is, in fact, an option...". Must have been written by Phil Space.

Re: Ian Evatt
How about Ivor Hunch ?
Re: Ian Evatt
Click on the link and go to the end of the article and there's a poll to ask if Blackpool supporters want Evatt to be manager. At the moment it's 61% in favour, so it needs people to go on and say they don't want him!

Re: Ian Evatt
So lets ask the NWEM to set up a popular vote for Jurgen Klopp as the next Barrow manager. Then we can all vote yes. I never realised appointing a manager was so easy.

IE is an ambitious manager doing a great job for us.
It doesn't go unnoticed when you are currently the best team in non league football.
My guess is Grimsby wont/dont have the funds to take him off us so okay for now??
However if a club like Sunderland came knocking then it would have a very different ending...

Re: Ian Evatt
IMO the only club Ian would leave us for, at the moment, would be Blackpool. And they don't appear to be on the verge of sacking Larry so nothing to worry about on that front.
Re: Ian Evatt
Richard, what makes you think it would only be Blackpool?Richard Ingham wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2019 8:03 am IMO the only club Ian would leave us for, at the moment, would be Blackpool. And they don't appear to be on the verge of sacking Larry so nothing to worry about on that front.

Re: Ian Evatt
I just think Blackpool is the only club he has enough of a pull towards that would overcome his ambition and determination to finish the project he started with us.
I might be wrong of course and if the right £ offer was made, Paul Hornby might be shooing him out of the door, but I just think it is unlikely to happen.

Re: Ian Evatt
I don't think (hope) Sunderland would go for a non-league manager but, if they did want Ian Evatt, he would definitely go. Any non-league manager would be mad to turn down the chance of managing a club with that crowd base although since they were taken over by the guy who used to own Eastleigh they are no longer in the big spenders league!whitty1969 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2019 7:13 amNot going to go away Jonty.Jonty wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 9:18 pm Will you put this Evatt to Grimsby nonsense in the bin please. Re: Ian Evatt
ffs everyone calm down, when did IE become sir Alex? He’s won nothing yet! In this game you go from headlines maker to chip paper in a matter of weeks. All this talk is pathetic, focus on what’s happening and support it:

Agreed. Simon Grayson is doing a very good job there too, so no need to worry about that vacancy opening up for a while yet.Richard Ingham wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2019 8:03 am IMO the only club Ian would leave us for, at the moment, would be Blackpool.
Re: Ian Evatt
Is it too late to get IE a T shirt for Christmas saying "Re the vacancy at ........... I'm not leaving - yet"

Re: Ian Evatt
Have always thought Blackpool would be the only club that realistically might want him that he'd be inclined to accept right now. End of the season will be a different matter depending on where we end up. Its also true that perception is everything. I personally dont doubt that he could do a job at L1 level right now but it would take a very enlightened Chairman/Owner to see that and appoint over a "named" League manager especially mid season.TaylorBAFC wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2019 10:38 amAgreed. If you look at Grimsby, IE has become a bookies selection mainly because (a) its now been several weeks since the dismissal of their last manager (b) other more obvious candidates have not materialised and (c) their caretaker manager hasn't managed to win a game. It should also be remembered that their caretaker manager Anthony Limbrick has a non league pedigree but of the wrong type having been the main architect of Wokings relegation a couple of years ago.
Contrast with Bristol Rovers who's name was also mentioned in relation to IE. Although involved in the play-off places in L1, their manager walks to a mid-table L2 club amid worrying rumours of financial issues, lack of ambition etc. But bang! they go straight for a known quantity, locally based with League Management experience in Tommy Widdrington. No brainer.
Whilst we believe that IE may have it in him to make a high level EFL manager other clubs wont see that just yet and there is no shortage of out of work EFL managers. What he may now attract are the types of cry for help offers that Grimsby represent rather than a genuine opportunity from a well set up club with real potential. Never be surprised at anything in football. But I would say that Fylde with its resources and ambition as a club would represent a better opportunity than Grimsby or Carlisle or Morecambe. And that has already been rejected.
Re: Ian Evatt
The manager of anyone top of the National League will always be on the bookies list for teams in L2.
Popular side since '03.
