PLAY YOUR PART CAMPAIGN
Re: PLAY YOUR PART CAMPAIGN
I am not one for great and long speeches, as I usually like to call a spade a spade, no pun intended.
But for me this is where we are now, our future as in the trust is in your our patrons hands. Do we have to dig deep, no that is for you to decide and by how much. All I will say is there has been a heck of a lot of work put in before this season started and it will continue by a small but dedicated team working unselfishly to progress this club on behalf of it’s supporters. Please support their work and the work of the directors in what ever way you can. You may feel your donation is small scale, but from little acorns do great oaks grow!
We are in this together for as long as we can commit collectively, unity is strength and with strength we can fight adversity in whatever shape or form together and that ultimately shapes our future as a club at this level or who knows beyond!

There is a breakdown Si, I hope someone will be forthcoming.
Yes it is not sustainable long term that has been touched upon in the opening gambit, but ultimately our future lies in our hands, do we embrace it or miss what may be the the opportunity of a generation!

Re: PLAY YOUR PART CAMPAIGN
I will argue long into the night with anyone who thinks papa cass did well for us; we’ve never had a chance like this and Evatt might need the money in Jan. if nothing else fill the ground on Boxing Day
Re: PLAY YOUR PART CAMPAIGN
Who knows where we would be without the Casson’s initial input! I prefer to think they laid the foundations, yes there have been barriers in our way, but we are Barrow and from adversity we draw strength and hopefully success, but only by pulling together, we have that in our very making, let’s hope it continues as if it’s not today then when will it be?HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2019 12:12 am I will argue long into the night with anyone who thinks papa cass did well for us; we’ve never had a chance like this and Evatt might need the money in Jan. if nothing else fill the ground on Boxing Day

More info needed in my opinion. I am happy to have a club to support wherever we are. Yes I love us having a bit of success but ultimately I would still be there whatever league we were in.
I am a little uncomfortable with the club/trust doing this 5 days before Christmas. I dont expect a full set of accounts to mull over but I want a bit more than whipping everyone into a frenzy on the back of a good run and hoping they all dip their hands in their pockets again.
Re: PLAY YOUR PART CAMPAIGN
Me neither Si, as always the devil is in the detail and hopefully the clarity will be forthcoming in the near future. But with every promotion push there is uncertainty and ultimately no guarantees at the end of the day, but sustainability must be the ultimate quest.
The timing may not be perfect but I’m sure the legalities and such took longer than anticipated.
The timescale is less than six months and it will take every one pulling in the same direction to see it through.

I'll see what I can do about some sort of breakdown, however the directors certainly don't view an annual loss of £850k as being sustainable. When they came in they had a number of challenges including historic debt and major compliance issues with the ground which had to be addressed.
It's overwhelmingly likely that for as long as we remain in this division we're going to operate at a loss, and it's not likely to be a small one either. That's the reality of National League life for a club like ours sadly. But major redevelopment work funded entirely by the club (i.e. without grants) should reduce now, as should payment on debts.

Re: PLAY YOUR PART CAMPAIGN
Completed it........we need to seize the moment, trust those running these initiatives, ride the storm together and let’s make the dream of a generation reality.

Anybody else had problems viewing the video via the links on this thread or on the actual trust website?
Re: PLAY YOUR PART CAMPAIGN
This idea that operating in this division incurs a loss is madness, acceptance and belief in this as the norm’ is what gets clubs in trouble. Why why why do we believe this?Levi wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2019 7:26 am I'll see what I can do about some sort of breakdown, however the directors certainly don't view an annual loss of £850k as being sustainable. Let’s face it, if the directors think they’re ever getting any money back from what they have ‘invested’ then they’re foolish.
I’ll still put money in to this initiative though

Re: PLAY YOUR PART CAMPAIGN
IIRC when Forest Green went up Dale Vince said it had cost him £10 million over the years to finally get promotion
Re: PLAY YOUR PART CAMPAIGN

Re: PLAY YOUR PART CAMPAIGN
Do we get money for promotion into EFL?
Re: PLAY YOUR PART CAMPAIGN
I read somewhere that the funding is £64k for the National League and £1M for League 2. I stand to be corrected on this however.
