Re: PLAY YOUR PART CAMPAIGN
I cannot remember when we first were offered a 10% Share in the club we would have to renew this on a regular basis, please correct me if I am wrong because if that's the system the other Owner/Directors will have to also put in 65k for each 10% of their shares, so someone with a 40% Share will have to put in 4x65 which is £260.000. is this how it works! it is possible and highly probable that some or all of the of the owners have already put a lot of their own money in to the club, just a thought and can someone explain is this going to be a regular thing.

It's the same for all clubs (or businesses) if you want to progress you raise money from the shareholders or you go into debt, a bit like Bury and probably Macclesfieldjaycarter wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2019 7:29 pm I cannot remember when we first were offered a 10% Share in the club we would have to renew this on a regular basis, please correct me if I am wrong because if that's the system the other Owner/Directors will have to also put in 65k for each 10% of their shares, so someone with a 40% Share will have to put in 4x65 which is £260.000. is this how it works! it is possible and highly probable that some or all of the of the owners have already put a lot of their own money in to the club, just a thought and can someone explain is this going to be a regular thing.

Re: PLAY YOUR PART CAMPAIGN
The initial money was to secure the stake. Everyone felt that it would go further than it did, but as has been explained quite a few times, compliance issues, historical debt, unknown bills that came to light.
Re the owners pretty much right. Except to say it's actually £85,000 per 10% but we got the 1901 knocked off plus money we put into (IIRC) YScout to help with player ID and some work in the changing rooms. So it's £65,000.
So actually, your 40% shareholder will have put in 4 x 85 over their original investment. Which works out at £340k. And all the other folk on the board have at least the 10% and our level of commitment to maintain their stake. And we aren't talking multi millionaires here, just Furness folk who have 'done well' and wanted to step in.
They are letting us the support, throught he Trust, go 'last' in terms of financial input . But there's no way over a number of years it'll be this amount year in year. Remember, for example, the West Terrace won't be condemned twice, we won't need all the compliance done again, nor the HSE, nor the historical debt, etc etc.
And there's also been refurbishment, money to improve income, support to secure our assets on the pitch, support the gaffer. And look at where we are as
a result!
The board have been really clear aren't going anywhere, so this isn't some survival plea, but investment has to be sustainable over time, they have been really clear on that.
So we will, regularly have to find money as a Trust to maintain the stake, but not like this, if as a support we want to secure the 10% and more importantly, be involved fully in the club in a grown up, honest, transparent way. Like Ian Evatt said on Radio Cumbria today in support of this today though no one is throwing money about, football at this level costs money. Whether we play our part is up to us.
With a continuing 1901 and improving all the other stuff, like the shop, raffle and fundraising, we do next season, we will use that towards investment in the shares, which is the core purpose of a supporters trust.
Most of this is covered in the FAQs above and Levi's response to one of the questions.

Would be good to have more trust events too like the race night, could do bar sports comps, 5/6a side tournaments etc.
Heaven is a place on earth, we prefer to call it Holker Street
popular side since 2002!

Re: PLAY YOUR PART CAMPAIGN
I don't think that is true of "all clubs (or businesses)" really, shareholders make an initial investment and then want healthy profits in normal businesses. That doesn't work for football generally of course particularly at our level where there is no 'profit' margin I don't think. Companies have to 'sweat their assets' to turn a profit e.g. if you have a factory you want it working 24/7 like Kimberly-Clark to name but two. Our only asset is the stadium which is used sporadically during the year and hardly at all during the summer and there's the rub; solve that one and we might be on the road to sustainability.Roadrunner wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2019 8:38 pm It's the same for all clubs (or businesses) if you want to progress you raise money from the shareholders or you go into debt, a bit like Bury and probably Macclesfield

Re: PLAY YOUR PART CAMPAIGN
our players are a big asset too - we sold Anderton, Williams and Bennett a few seasons back for a combined £250,000. The team now is better individually and as a whole now than then. I'n not suggesting we sell anyone - but a daft big offer for someone might be tempting (especially if Evatt knows who he'd get as a replacement).Wintergreen wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2019 10:08 amI don't think that is true of "all clubs (or businesses)" really, shareholders make an initial investment and then want healthy profits in normal businesses. If you think about the money spent so far we've managed to:Wintergreen wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2019 10:08 amI don't think that is true of "all clubs (or businesses)" really, shareholders make an initial investment and then want healthy profits in normal businesses. Refurbish the Cross bar (giving us greater income through bar bookings)
Refurbish of Corporate Rooms (giving us greater income through corporate bookings and company bookings during week)
Catering Huts (Bringing income from catering sales which we previously didn't have before)
Level of the West Terrace (Needed to be done and cost a lot due to concrete pours but gives us more freedom to make further changes)
Improved Physio Room (Saving on down time of players by improving recovery from strains etc.)
And future planned building of the bar inside the ground, meaning we can hold our own in terms of serving alcohol and not losing revenue to the Soccer Bar at Half Time.
Sponsorship is up, Merchandise Sales are up due to improved online service. We've invested a huge amount this year, a lot of it will pay dividends over time.
We've not only had to recover from a lot of debt left by the previous owners, but a lack of physical and organisational structure at the club.
On and off the field we've brought ourselves leaps and bounds this year. Money that in previous years we've [SwearFilter] away without much complaint from the fan base.
