Totally agree Jonny, why the hell would you be giving an advantage to your opponent in a crucial game, and by giving up the whole of holker end to them that’s what your doing, all this maximise revenue,[SwearFilter] to that,it’s pathetic to even consider it.Jonty wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 3:46 pm Two very different scenarios here.
1- In a dead rubber game for Barrow, but with a large away following expected (ie the end of season Hartlepool game and the Darlington game), then yes, maximise a greater use of the HS Terrace to accommodate any numbers.
2- in a Massive game for Barrow, and a large away following expected, (ie potentially the Stockport / Notts games) then restrict the away fans to the corner of the Terrace that is segregated and get as many home fans in as possible. These games could attract 4000+ home fans. I would not want to give up the whole HSE to away fans in these massive games when demand would be there for Barrow fans to take up the tickets.
Ticketing these games would control the numbers. Especially main stand

Re: 1,000 Away Fans
Good thread & comments, The club is on a quick & steep learning curve atm & maximizing revenue has to be the priority, Even if it means they temporarily upsetting some sections of the home support for a couple of games.
As our excitement & crowds continue to rise we could easily be looking at a couple of sell out crowds if the Title is still on the line.
March 7th could see Notts wanting anywhere from 500 to 1000+ tickets if their recent form continues & they themselves are in the Play off--Title conversation.
March 14th could see Wrexham wanting anywhere from 200-700, the former if they are lower to mid table obscurity & the latter if are in the Relegation dog fight but in form at that time & the great escape is very much on for them.
March 28th Stockport, If they are still in the mix then 500 to 1200+ could be on the cards again.
April 13th See Chesterfield visiting & they obviously have a soft spot for Ian so a fair few more would travel here for that & if they were scrapping for their lives with a golden chance of surviving could again see anywhere from 500--1000+ visiting.
Now factor in our (( Hopefully )) continued success & we would surely be getting at least 4,000 home fans as the interest becomes fever pitch as we gallop towards the Title.
So where do we house these bigger away crowds safely & in a way that causes the least disruption to the home fans while maximizing revenue from both sets of support?
Currently its the W of the stand & that nearest section of the Holker St End which the barriers can be moved depending on numbers.
Could the West Terrace & behind the Steelworks end stopping at the tunnel & the B in the stand be used for away support?
Could the West Terrace hold (temporary) event elevated seats to increase our capacity generally until the BOD figure out their blueprints for the future?
Making these games all ticket well in advance will provide more accurate numbers so informed decisions can be made, Providing everyone still has something to play for & more Stewards-Bar Staff-Volunteers--Portoloo's--Catering WILL BE NEEDED thats for sure.
Could we set up temporary bottle banks inside the Cross Bar in that room at the top of the stairs to ease the crush at the bar? couple of large bins selling cans of bitter in 1...-larger in another--cider & pop/water- ditto-whatever, good money spinner for the Trust maybe?
SAME for the away end but maybe have extra stewards/Police (free of charge...Trevor Jones) in attendance to minimize any bother...
So many questions, So much progression, BRILLIANT INIT.

Maybe so but if you plan for the worst & its less than that then you've covered all basis haven't you.Van Der Nipper wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 7:14 pm Wildly optimistic with some of them possible away fugures Mike.
I honestly believe that Notts county & Stockport (( IF )) still in the hunt for the Title will bring those kind of numbers & Wrexham & Chesterfield should bring a minimum of 3/400 if it means they avoid the drop, But if they are safe they won't bring many.
Don't you think we can get 4k if we are going into the last few homes games & realistically going for the title?
Time will tell.

Get a stand put on top of the Crossbar building. Problem solved.

Re: 1,000 Away Fans
The Stockport figures look about right; Wrexham and Chesterfield miles off
I always used to prefer it when away fans were shoved behind the goal at the crossbar end but can also see the very obvious reasons why it got stopped

Re: 1,000 Away Fans
Yes we could be on track for 4000 home fans for the Stockport and Notts games if things are as they are now and they would bring big followings, so the solution is to restrict the away numbers to 500 tickets on the terrace and 164 tickets in the stand (as per the Rochdale cup game) then the rest can be allocated to Barrow fans. These will be massive massive games, biggest games since going out of the league.mickmike wilson wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 8:02 pmMaybe so but if you plan for the worst & its less than that then you've covered all basis haven't you.Van Der Nipper wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 7:14 pm Wildly optimistic with some of them possible away fugures Mike.

Has the Crush Barrier work begun on the Holker End? If this gets done before March how many will our capacity go up by, Anyone know?Jonty wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 8:58 pmYes we could be on track for 4000 home fans for the Stockport and Notts games if things are as they are now and they would bring big followings, so the solution is to restrict the away numbers to 500 tickets on the terrace and 164 tickets in the stand (as per the Rochdale cup game) then the rest can be allocated to Barrow fans. Is there any other minor works in the pipeline that would increase the Capacity? Even if it only goes up by a few dozed here & there it will be worth doing just in case the Impossible Dream continues & we get these bumper gates
If it were me id only restrict the away numbers if we are 100% sure enough home fans will turn up to reach any sell outs & im seriously looking into flying over for the 7th & 14th of March games

Re: 1,000 Away Fans
If we play FC UTD what are we expecting 1500 aways fans? Give away fans their allocation 500 and nothing more, don't sell our soul.

already earmarked the final weekends (and playoff dates) and will fly over for at least one of those games if we can stay in the race.
Taking that as an indicator we are looking at potential sellouts (for home supporters) for most of those games if form holds up

Re: 1,000 Away Fans
I can’t see fc Utd bringing 1500 if we play them, especially when the m6 is closed for the full weekend between junction 32 (Preston) and 33 (Lancaster).

No chance. Their average home attendance is only 1610!Kendal_bluebird wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2019 9:00 am I can’t see fc Utd bringing 1500 if we play them, especially when the m6 is closed for the full weekend between junction 32 (Preston) and 33 (Lancaster).

Yes the barriers were started a while ago, are old fella has been fabricating them, told him to pull his finger out. Believe its only a matter of time before they are installedmickmike wilson wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 11:48 pmHas the Crush Barrier work begun on the Holker End? Its could be their BIG game as they are poor at the moment but they would travel here in numbers (Craven Park HCOB)
Re: 1,000 Away Fans
