Staying focused for the challenge

Post by Jonty » Mon Feb 17, 2020 7:07 pm

Don’t know about you lot but the last couple of weeks, I am constantly looking at the table and the fixture list. Driving my Mrs. nuts, going through the permutations and every if but and maybe you can think of. Please tell me its not just me!!
After a couple of defeats, a match postponed and a lot of media attention around the club and the Manager (albeit positive attention). We need to get back to the football and tomorrow night can’t come quick enough.
We are going into the most high profile run of games in the modern history of our club. We have strengthened bringing in Jones and Soule. We have a fully fit and ready squad. Dover, then quickly onto Sutton, then, Dagenham, it really is coming into the business end now and quickly. Are we up for this Barrow!! :scarf:

Very much this; need a couple of wins out of the next few games to settle the nerves a tad. We’ve got games coming up now that we should really be winning (Sutton away aside) and that’s an unusual situation for us as fans

Think we really need to ramp up the sound from the supporters if we can, as soon as we can.

Will be thrills and spills ahead. The weather and Trophy has meant that every team has lost some momentum so this weird division will be affected again by this levelling effect. I really wish it wasn't Dover that we had to get going against but it is what it is.

Rest assured they will need every voice of encouragement tomorrow (assuming we play) so give it plenty and stay with them when confronted by the white wall. I'll be with the cheer leaders on Saturday.

Not sure it's a nervous thing.. more anxious?
And not being funny or owt but understandable too!

Probably out best chance to get back where we rightly deserve to be after almost half a century!

Some old timers may have thought they would never see the day, some younger old timers like me have wondered if we would ever see the day and some kids who have no idea might be dreaming of bigger things too..

Stick together, keep up this great support and we can do it...

We WILL do it.
Just wondering what the number of people might be that saw them go out on that day in1972,still carried on going and then will witness the club going back home within that 48 year window!.

I still like the idea that it is the fault of the Common Market/EU.
1973 saw the end of the first season in non-league and the UK entry to the CM. 2020 will see the first season back in the league and UK out of the EU. Bloody Brussels!
Thanks to whoever it was who first pointed that factoid out.

It would be difficult to think of any 2 things that had less of a relationship!

Trigger warning! The following is a joke!

Some who were there in 1972 might say that both Barrow and the country have languished since and now both are on the verge of ascending once again to the sunlit uplands of their dreams - though I couldn't possibly comment ;)
