Today could be the game that costs us the league.
Rooney had a stinker did he miss 2 or 3 consecutive penalties last season
He moaned at players when he gave them bad passes

Ironically I might be wrong but did Quigley get tackled /tripped then stumble and carry on running and followed through?
I thought the red was harsh Notts County rolled allover during the game the ref only had cards for the home team .
The Goalkeeper did not need much attention after the challenge
Let's hope the new lad from Blackburn is a undiscovered gem as Harrison is a shadow of his former self since the Lincoln injury.

Can’t keep missing pens; absolutely dominated the first half (admittedly without creating much) score that we probably win.
Ridiculous tackle from Quigley, was never ever going to get the ball, was frustration more than anything (same as Rooney, arguing with our players) but now he’s missing 3 games at the most crucial time of the season for us and let’s be honest we’ve known all along something like this would hurt us, bringing on the likes of Brown and Harrison isn’t going to win games
Not sure if it’s the match fitness issue with Jones or what but he just hasn’t been the same player since he came back, no idea why Platt went off instead today. Hopefully Brad Barry will be back ASAP because Kay doesn’t look the same player out there either

Concur. Some observations.

#1. Really need Brad Barry back. Not the same team without him.
#2. Josh Kay nowhere near as effective playing on the right. Needs to go back to the left. He also has a tempestuous attitude, too many cards for niggly offences.
#3. Dan Jones makes way too many bad passes. Not a starter.
#4. John Rooney should never take another penalty.
#5. What was Ian Evatt thinking to take off Matt Platt? Likely no 2nd goal if he'd been on.
#6. Worse still, what was Ian Evatt thinking to bring on Byron Harrison? Hardly scored a goal in 2 years and doesn't look like he will in the next 2 years. He's gotta be put out to pasture.
#7. With Quigley gone, would have been the perfect opportunity to bring on Jaime Soule. In 1 month, he's hardly been given a chance.
#8. Sorry, not a Dior Angus fan, we need someone better. Can't head a ball for one thing.

We should of won it in the first half, penalty and a free kick off the post and all the pressure that’s where it was lost. The sending off was a definite and once they scored we just lost our drive, ambition and confidence....

We are still top of the league no matter what Harrogate do so it’s all in our hands, the team just need to believe in themselves and put this behind us and concentrate on the next game with the believe and confidence shown all season.....

From where I sat in main stand Quigley perfectly entitled to go for that ball it was loose keeper had no control of it.Ref poor today can’t believe he didn’t card the bloke gave away the panalty we missed.Wind and pitch made it difficult for both sides .Think we lost our spirit a bit after sending off.They were not two goals better than us poor officiating has cost us today and a disappointing reaction to going behind.Lots of twists and turns to go shame yet again save a poorer than usual performance for a big crowd but we go again next week

Season done now

I'm sorry, Tommy Lad, but that's ridiculous. No sporting figure, or team, can ever afford to think like that when the heat comes on. Your post says you are a "senior member" but the comment seems youthful and lacking in experience! I can only assume it was a spur-of-the-moment comment that arose from your disappointment! The fact remains that even though today was the day from our worst nightmares (missed penalty, reckless challenge producing a justified red card, and a match turning around that we had completely controlled until that moment) we will still lead the table tonight - - - probably by only two points but we will still lead the table.

Now comes the challenge and the test of character. Our lads now face the examination paper. Yes, Harrogate might have quite a bit of momentum after today but it would go against all sporting logic if they don't have a wobble or two before this season is out - - - and if they don't you would have to hold your hands up. Chances are there will be twists and turns, some unexpected, so the season is very far from over just because of one black day. Despite Ian Evatt's kidology that there are no nerves in our squad I think there have been plenty on show in recent times as we have scraped by in most recent matches without ever finding the performances that we know we are capable of. But we know how well we can play and I am hoping that a bit of a shift in the burden of expectation onto the shoulders of Harrogate will start to weigh on them and the psychology of the situation will start to affect them. I would hope and expect that we can come out very angry with ourselves after today's frustrating events and fire through our last nine games with a renewed determination to prove we have the bottle, the composure, and the mettle to finish the job. I repeat, we are still top tonight, we still have very good players, we go again. Black days happen. I'll be surprised if Harrogate don't have a couple before the season ends.

It's a tough league you have to remember we are punching above our weight and I bet notts county's budget is double ours but we have done well to still be in connection for promotion with our small squad and lack of strength in depth we go again next week let's hope the young loan forwards can impress

Without Brad Barry we look an ordinary side. We have square pegs in round holes with Kay on the right and Brough at left wing back. Also Dan jones has been poor. Brough and Kay had a good understanding on the left and its weakened us breaking that partnership up.
I was to far away to have an opinion on Quigleys red card but the common consensus was that it was deserved.He will be a massive miss for 3 games.

Three things to be learnt from today.
Rooney isn’t a great penalty taker, at all.
Kay needs an absolute shafting for one of the most stupid yellows of the season.
The team folded far far too easily after the sending off, & that’s worrying.

I don’t believe for a minute that was a red card, the ball was loose and there to be played for, at the worst it was clumsy by Quigs.

Too many bad passes, mistimed tackles and poor defending - the worst 45 minutes I’ve seen us play for a long time. Very disappointing and that is nothing to do with purely the loss, it’s the manner of it - and to be honest it’s been coming in recent weeks...as I type, Bromley score
