John Woods
The club has announced the death earlier today of long time supporter, John Woods. I fear this is Steelworks End of this forum.

Re: John Woods
It is Nigel a sad day for all, he never got to relive the return to the league dream. Hopefully it’s still achieved in his memory.

Re: John Woods
Spoke to John a few times at away games. As Mark said, hopefully achieve the football league in his memory.

Re: John Woods
He only posted on here on Saturday evening (his other favourite topic: railways). This is very sudden.
He and I worked together for a short while at Barclays, 107/109 Duke Street (the Old Bank) back in the late 60s. His commitment to the club he loved was beyond question and it is so sad that he will not see our potential return to the League. His knowledge of the club's history was extensive. May he rest in peace.

Re: John Woods
This forum and turning up at away days will be poorer without his presence.

Re: John Woods
Sad to learn of this. I did not know John personally, only through his posts on here, where his passion for Barrow always came though. Sincere condolences to his family and friends at this sad time. RIP fellow Bluebird.

Shocking news. I did not know John at all, only through his posts on this forum which were insightful, knowledgeable and often amusing. Condolences to all family and friends. I am sure we will all miss his presence, even if it was just through what he had to say on here. Very sad to hear this.

Re: John Woods
Nice man, travelled on same trains a few times when I lived down south unbelievable knowledge of all things barrow afc.
He'd always point a drunken me in the right direction of my train at Waterloo on a Saturday evening.
Big loss.
We need promoting for people like John.

Re: John Woods
Only met John a few times but what a lovely bloke. We spoke quite a few times through PMs where he was often donating money to the GMV.
Such sad news, everything seems to be bad news at the moment.
Thoughts are with his family & friends.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
