Bingo - you do have a point. Two weeks into lockdown and I found myself sat on the roof yesterday scraping moss and pigeon cr*p of it with a wire brush. When it comes to a choice between choosing what shade of brown I should re-stain the garden fence with (Dark Oak) or venting forth on the forum, often the forum cops it. And Barrowfan is right, it is quite therapeutic. As for the verbal diarrhoea well unfortunately that's just in the genes. Personally, I'm probably trying to compensate for all the things that those in power could be doing to resolve this issue that they haven't communicated or done.

Re: Decisions being made
SPFL clubs are to vote on ending the Championship, League One and League Two seasons and deciding final places based on points per game. But a decision on the Premiership remains on hold.

Re: Decisions being made
Interesting development this. The proposal is to keep promotion and relegation based on current PPG and abandon play-offs. Now you might think that this proposal would find it difficult to get a majority with the various vested interests involved. However, in Scotland completion of the season will trigger payments to the League clubs and these have so far been withheld (in England I think that EOS payments have already been released by the EFL).blue nige wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2020 1:48 pm SPFL clubs are to vote on ending the Championship, League One and League Two seasons and deciding final places based on points per game. Additionally the SFL has already conceded that notwithstanding promotion and relegation having being decided, a further discussion will have to be held with the clubs regarding the possible re-structuring of the Leagues which may additionally change the shape of each league.
This probably has more relevance to our situation than anything happening in Belgium. Hope they approve PPG.

If we get put into a league two north I’m taking up crown green again.

Re: Decisions being made
With Chesterfield the latest club to furlough staff I was wondering where we are with all this.
National league is indefinitely suspended.
We have 5 loanees that will go back end of this month
Players out of contract.
Don't know when league will start.
It's a farce.
It's not important in the face of things but when we get back to normal I would hope we still have a football club.
Finish season with PPG.

Re: Decisions being made
A league 2 North would be good just split league 2 and the national league to make a North an South with restructuring someone mentioned it on twitter slough towns manager I think keeps non league happy as teams would move up a division a div 3 North of barrow, Stockport, Harrogate, notts county, Chesterfield, Port Vale, Walsall, oldham, carlisle, hartlepool, grimsby, Halifax, morecambe, Mansfield,,fylde, chorley,Bradford,Salford, scunny macclesfield,Wrexham,Solihull, tranmere, bolton

Re: Decisions being made
Rick Parry (Chairman of the football league) has sent a proposal out to all football league clubs suggesting they re-start the season early June, all games behind closed doors, would still have play-offs and get it all done within 56 days
Obviously would still need government approval etc anyway but at least there’s a plan in place now (and presumably one that the national league would copy?)

Re: Decisions being made
Very little chance of that happening as 75% of the clubs have to vote for it and there are already many which have come out publically against it.blue nige wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2020 1:48 pm SPFL clubs are to vote on ending the Championship, League One and League Two seasons and deciding final places based on points per game. How would that solve the finances of the desperate clubs?HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 12:49 pm Rick Parry (Chairman of the football league) has sent a proposal out to all football league clubs suggesting they re-start the season early June, all games behind closed doors, would still have play-offs and get it all done within 56 days

Re: Decisions being made
The power players in the game are determined to play it out aren’t they. All to do with not defaulting on global worldwide revenues. Who will have the appetite to play out this season in June / July, what will squads look like? What state will clubs be in? Absolutely lubricous thinking when they could just end it now. If that means null and void and then eventually start a late 2020/21 season, whenever social distancing allows then so be it. There’s far more important things to be thinking about.

Re: Decisions being made
It wouldn't. So on the face of it its unlikely to meet with agreement. It is in keeping with the declared aim of the Premiership though which is to play on whenever.whitty1969 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 1:17 pmHow would that solve the finances of the desperate clubs?HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 12:49 pm Rick Parry (Chairman of the football league) has sent a proposal out to all football league clubs suggesting they re-start the season early June, all games behind closed doors, would still have play-offs and get it all done within 56 days

Depends on whether this is just a random suggestion, in which case Rick Parry's judgement needs to be questioned OR whether this is the first of several different proposals. So you firstly say to the EFL members - if we are going to play on then we'll have to do it behind closed doors, get it done by the end of July and then immediately start a new season in August. You've had your advance payments already so there is no more money and you wont get any gate receipts until the season ends. But the "honour" of the game and its theoretical integrity will be upheld. How about it?
If the answer is "you're aving a larf", then he could follow it up with Proposal 2 which could be "OK the EFL cant play on in these circumstances so you must now decide whether you want us to declare the season as is (PPG) or void it entirely with no promotion or relegation. We'd need to agree this with the Prem as they would technically no longer be duty bound to accept 3 teams from the Championship. But we can then focus on a traditional start date for the new season.
My gut says the EFL cannot let this go beyond the end of April without either having a set date for a restart or curtailing the season. If lockdown is going to be extended to the end of April which may be probable this is the last possible date the EFL could conceivable operate without a restart date. In this respect you can see why a decision by SFL clubs to go for a PPG solution might ultimately be influential.
But as far as the NL is concerned I just dont see the prospect of playing behind closed doors in June and July as viable.

Re: Decisions being made
I also saw on Sky yesterday that Partick Thistle and Stranraer are also for exactly the same reason as Hearts so that's 4 already that I've seen and they only need 11 to defeat it.Middleton Nick wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 1:01 pmOnly Rangers and Hearts are against it at the moment for obvious reasons.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 12:59 pm Very little chance of that happening as 75% of the clubs have to vote for it and there are already many which have come out publically against it.
