Yep, I remember one bitter Tuesday night match at Emley. Or I should say I remember freezing my extremities and other parts off at one bitter Tuesday night match at Emley, Don't remember anything about the game, suspect it was probably a 0-0 draw.

Our away game ritual pretty much always took in fish 'n' chips and a couple of pints before the match. The chippie across the road from Altrincham's ground was always decent, and there's a good one in Borehamwood, but I can't really remember any more of the good ones. It's the poor ones that stick in the mind: one on the high street in Salisbury, the day Greg Blundell scored with his nuts; Grimsby - two chippies directly opposite each other: we chose the wrong one; but worst of all, Woking: I saw Suffolk Blue outside the station and we decided to go to the pub. He wisely chose the hot pot or some such, while I went for my traditional F&Cs. Flat, grey, undercooked, just awful. Should've gone to the Pizza Hut with Prince Andrew.

Still remember that blow out on the motorway!

Still never got to Salisbury as missed the league game
I was on the field on Newby Terrace by 3pm watching a game there in my full BarrowAFC regalia complete with rucksack, flask etc. That was an occasion where we could sing we have 6 coaches not just the two.
They were great days with very few where there wasn't some incident etc to remember them by.
Just as an aside regarding your first away at Kiddie when you walked down the road with Danielle me and your Alex from that strange little house turned into a pub. I was hyperventilating cos I couldn't understand a blooming word you said.

That awful chippy just down from Salisbury station was the worst ever. What riled me more than anything was the name, The Yorkshire Fisheries.

The best chippies were at Grimsby, Alty and York and there was another one reputed to be the best in the world according to the sign outside  that the late Tony Lewis took us to but can't remember where.
Mark Mc you will remember where as you were with us.

I remember that Arvo. Remember thinking I should've had the Fish n Chips....until it turned up. Woking it has to be said is not the culinary capital of the South.

Haddock and Chips in Lowestoft on the other hand....now you're talking.

Oh yes, now you are talking, indeed. I remembered Lowestoft just about immediately after posting I couldn't recall many more of the good ones. We ate ours out of the paper on the road facing the harbour, fending off the occasional swoops of gulls who were just as interested in the meal as we were!

Yes, quite a pleasant walk (apart from the accursed dogs and their owners) with lots of planting on the other side from the ground.

South Elmsall is a pleasant enough small town, no better or worse than hundreds of others across the country.

Equally so the season they moved to Wakefield Trinity's RL ground at Bellevue. A miserable late season game won by a Bullimore penalty. Remember standing on this vast terrace behind the goal virtually on my own watching a little chap in a flat cap take his whippet for a walk.
Remember that!

We had taken to the stand that day...

Best chippie - Blyth should be up there.

Agree, matlock especially was probably the most picturesque ground I've been to, knowsley was awful, although did get to speak to alan Kennedy there who was standing with the barrow fans, only thing I really remember about marine is their power hungry steward and chip shop next door!
I remember a steward wearing a Liverpool hat refusing to let one of the Barrow players park in the car park it was Alan Kennedy made me chuckle at the time
