Believe so, and if Blackburn haven't tied him up by now I'd guess they don't intend to. Surely we have a shot at signing him permanently

Re: Retained list
one thing i picked up from Paul Hornby's interview on BBC radio Cumbria was that we have 11 players tied up for next season not 9;- so looks like as others have said 2 players have triggered contract extensions - and realistically that must be 2 from Hird, Taylor, Brown ... or Harrison (mainly sub appearances) as they are the only ones who have played enough matches I think.

Re: Retained list
Someone mentioned signing Dan Jones. I think this would be a retrograde step and would seriously damage our team ethic. I don’t regard him as a team player and think his inclusion damaged our performances at the end of our curtailed season.

I believe that Dan Jones remains under contract at Salford for a further year. Dont think we'd be wanting to pay a transfer fee.MikeRenney wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 10:05 am Someone mentioned signing Dan Jones. Not having that harrison gets an extension in a month of Sundays can claim all you want about holding the ball up but anyone can do that if thats the case give grant holt a 3 rd go haha

Re: Retained list
I agree. Sadly finished as a player at even NL level. The times I saw him he didn't actually hold the ball up very well and was no danger in any of his sub appearances.PerthBluebird wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 1:57 pm Not having that harrison gets an extension in a month of Sundays can claim all you want about holding the ball up but anyone can do that if thats the case give grant holt a 3 rd go haha

Re: Retained list
i'm not saying he should get an extension - just wondering if he had a clause that made him entitled to one if he played so many matches - because if he did he would almost certainly have activated it by coming on as sub so many times..russell_anderson wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 3:49 pmI agree. I agree that when Dan Jones came into the side it coincided with a spell were we collectively didn't look as convincing, whether that was part of it, I’m not sure, The balance is so fine.MikeRenney wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 10:05 am Someone mentioned signing Dan Jones. Retained list out late this week or early next week according to the Chairman on the radio earlier.
