Re: Ian Evatt
Can anyone arrange a friendly chat between IE and a certain Mr Vic Halom. Halom put together a cracking footballing side, won promotion back to the Conference and immediately left for the bright lights of the football league with Rochdale. Halom has said many times it was the worst decision of his life and should have stayed and consolidated with Barrow.

Re: Ian Evatt
Ian Evatt has just been quoted on Radio Cumbria sports bulletin as saying that "It's inevevattable that he is going to be linked to other jobs seeing as he got Barrow promoted".
By Marc Iles MarcIles
Chief Football Writer-Bolton News.....
"Sources close to Evatt insisted the deal had not veered off course and that an arrangement on compensation could still be struck quickly. But at Bolton – who had hoped to appoint a new boss before the weekend – the mood was more circumspect.".......
This Bolton News reporter called Marc Iles knows no more than any of us. As Adam eluded to earlier in the thread, basically its all a load of crap, bits and pieces pulled together to make what is really a non story.
Of course there is interest in Evatt, there is bound to be. But I wouldn't be worried about Bolton coming in for him-as we know ,they are basically potless. Other clubs will be working on Evatt silently in the background-that's where the danger lies.
As for the likes of Johnno etc, I think he emanates from somewhere closer to home.

Re: Ian Evatt
See, this is the annoying thing....the compensation package was wrote in after the Fylde approach and everyone must’ve been happy with it so to me it’s easy - that’s the amount required to take our manager (and possibly back room staff) so Bolton - pay it or [SwearFilter] off.
It’s really not that hard to understand is it?
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: Ian Evatt
So, Bolton say it’s less than £250k , and they still can’t afford it and want to pay in instalments. Clearly they have more money than integrity .
Re: Ian Evatt
Interesting to see that the newspapers report about Boltons interest in Ian Evatt also had a piece about Bolton not paying agents fees.
I wonder if the two are connected.
Full marks to Mr Hornby and the board for resisting this.

Re: Ian Evatt
The compensation figure (whatever it is) represents what the BOD and IE think he is worth. According to the Bolton Evening News, Bolton want to negotiate that figure. So either they don't think he is worth what IE thinks he's worth or they haven't got enough money to pay it. Either way, it's not a good message to give to an incoming manager. Walk away from it IE.

Re: Ian Evatt
I thought Evett was committed to our cause.
If rumours are true he is talking to Bolton then he isn't 100% with us.
I personally don't think he will go anywhere and will get us promotion again next year.
Stay with us Ian finish what you started
