Probably Evatt's agent dropping his wallet.

Re: Ian Evatt
I see there was a small earthquake just outside Bolton early this morning.(true).
Probably Evatt's agent dropping his wallet.

Re: Ian Evatt
Still don’t really see why if Bolton want him so much they just don’t pay the £250k (or whatever the figure is) Seems simple

Could be they haven't got it!HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 5:30 pm Still don’t really see why if Bolton want him so much they just don’t pay the £250k (or whatever the figure is) Seems simple

Re: Ian Evatt
Reading between the many many lines of this lot - I suspect they are willing to pay but are disputing the amount - either because they beleive his contract says something different to what Barrow are asking for OR they are simply trying to negotiate. Seems fairly normal practice to me (and I suspect that in football it happens a lot but this is the first time we have seen it first hand)HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 5:30 pm Still don’t really see why if Bolton want him so much they just don’t pay the £250k (or whatever the figure is) Seems simple
Some people really do need to think a bit more before they post things on here

Heard first Bolton offer was £25,000 and a pasty barm.

Re: Ian Evatt
Without knowing much about financial law or football contracts, i don't see where a dispute would come from? Surely Evatt/his agent has a copy of the contract. If the amount is less, just offer the amount they believe it to be and if it was correct BAFC would have to accept or be in breach of contract themselves?Stephen Leonard wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 5:35 pmReading between the many many lines of this lot - I suspect they are willing to pay but are disputing the amount - either because they beleive his contract says something different to what Barrow are asking for OR they are simply trying to negotiate. Given Hornby is a leading accountant and Shearer has overseen multi-million pound deals throughout his career, you'd assume the pair are more than experienced in producing watertight contracts and having full understanding of them...
FWIW I hope we do stick to our guns with it, that's his contract and we don't want him to go so why accept less... If we're going to roll over and be patted on the head by the bigger boys in the league we might as well give up now cos it's gonna be a long season.
Re: Ian Evatt
I said above I don’t want the board to let him go cheap, however if it is true, and I’m not sure what is anymore, that he wants to leave I’d rather he did. Don’t want a manager here that isn’t committed.
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it

Re: Ian Evatt
Indeed so. You have the right combination of people in charge to be able to navigate there way through a contract. Which is why presumably this process is still ongoing.Ste Story wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 5:52 pmWithout knowing much about financial law or football contracts, i don't see where a dispute would come from? Well, Yeah!.Moribund wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 5:18 pmWe'll see - they're certainly setting themselves up to fail if the deal collapses.mall wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 5:02 pm
"but they aren't making it all up."-
I think they are. There has been a massive slump in the print media due to the virus-people got out of the habit.
The Bolton News knows people are desperate for a bit of good news and is happy to print sh!te to sell papers=profit.
Suppose you could say the same for Adam really.
Re: Ian Evatt
Think he has to be made to honour his contract or we get the stipulated compensation .
Need to prove we are not a push over.
