Agreed, SB, it is getting very tiring. I'd put it more strongly and say the last six days have been TORTURE. And I only skim the surface of what's going on because I find it too wearying to dig and dig and dig into the possible options arising and machinations unfolding. I do not possess the strength to try and unscramble, decode or second guess all the bites/half-bites that present themselves. That would be torture times a hundred. And you've done this hard on the heels of all the intensive undercover work you carried out on the "Decisions Being Made" thread. You must have one iron constitution. I don't know how you have managed to retain your sanity. I reckon you deserve a four-month world cruise after all the exhaustive effort you have applied to try and understand what is going on in the minds of unscrupulous agents and authority figures. But a four-month world cruise? I guess that would be TORTURE too as you would miss watching us play in Division 2. Sometimes you just can't win! Life is hard! A choice between two rotten eggs! All the best and thanks for your efforts in trying to keep the people informed. Hope to see you on the terraces soon . . . unless you decide that that world cruise is the less tortuous option of the two . . .

Its all hot air at the end of the day PJ. Just keeps you away from the biscuit barrel during lockdown. Perhaps its hindsight but there's a sense in which this has been coming a while. From the moment Scott Quigley got sent off at a point when we were hammering Notts County everything has felt unfinished. Hopefully this draws a line under it all.

Lets have a look at the settlement. If it is in 6 figures then that would get us a decent proven replacement and save the cost of at least a year of Evatts/Athertons contracts. You could argue that would be good business.

As for celebrations, the moment has passed for bus parades and Town Hall gatherings. Something involving the players, staff and supporters at HS would be nice and no I'm not sure inviting IE would be appropriate - and that's not being nasty just sensible. It would be a great ice breaker for a new manager though.

When you actually put all of this tawdry delay and frustration to one side, there is so much to smile about and we haven't done anything like as much smiling as we should. I feel a little robbed and for all that IE has done for this club, and for which I will always be grateful, by putting himself first at the earliest opportunity - which he is entitled to do - he has broken the bond that had been created with the club. His achievement will always be legendary. But I dont think he will be a legend at the club.

Sorry I just don't think anything about it is good business for us. What price continuity and taking Barrow into L2 and keeping developing us. Some clubs have spent 5 times that much getting nowhere in the NL.

The thing is Evatt is ambitious but lacks integrity and loyalty,this is the second incident he has us thinking he was moving in 6 months.

He is turning into a first class ****

If he stays it will because Bolton have been spinning him tales and he could be on the move again mid season

You're absolutely correct and this could be bad both for Bolton and Barrow. Whoever we get in is a gamble because every new manager is a gamble and we didn't need to gamble. It is equally a gamble for Bolton and could be a very expensive mistake. There are a host of managers who do well at one club but are a disaster at another. Nathan Jones was a brilliant manager at Luton and his team played great football in Division 2. He moved to a higher level at Stoke and struggled to win a game was a disaster! He's now back at Luton who were almost dead and buried in the Championship and they are now undefeated in 5 matches and have a chance of escaping relegation in the same league as Stoke where he couldn't buy a win!

If you expect any manager to get the feel for a club like any long standing supporter you're always going to be this bitter. We (hopefully) will be watching league football next season because of him not in spite of him. He will go for more money and higher profile who wouldn't?

Not only did he get us promoted but early on he recognised the disconnect with a lot of the Barrow public and the club and was a big part in the clubs re-connection with the town, maybe this has given some folk a false sense of his loyalty to the club. The reality is he is not from Barrow and is looking after his and his families future that does not make him or anyone in that position a first class ****. 2 years is short and sweet but I think I'm not alone in being grateful for what he did while with us.
