Smartest thing I’ve heard on here. Who wouldn’t have sacrificed IE for promotion back to the EFL at the beginning of the season? No one man is better than this club or makes this club. If he goes, which I hope he doesn’t, then good luck to him and I hope he makes it all the way. I for one won’t forget what he’s done for this club, town or community. Whenever he chooses to leave it will be a kick in the nuts but that’s football, constant challenges. That’s why we love it

Isn’t IE the first manager we’ve had we’re he has insisted the players stayed in Barrow (at the dunes) before a game? Seem to remember Ady offering this to some players but it was turned down. Little things like that, with the advantage of not travelling on the day, hope we get someone with the same mindset, or someone from the current team (if any of the senior players have the coaching badges)who has worked under Evatt and knows the score.

As long as it was in one lump sum think I would take it, get a new manager and we can afford to buy some players, only concern would be are the players we have playing for barrow or Ian.

The sand is already in the KY. Take the 200. Learn the EFL is a lot more competitive and tactics less friendly. Get nastier. [SwearFilter] Bolton.
How does it make you feel to know that you voted for this?

Like Ian Evatt, the players are not playing for Barrow (or Ian) but themselves. They know he can't buy any of them this season but I would bet a pound to a penny that he's already been on the telephone to the ones he likes and told them not to renew their contracts next season. We will find that out soon enough. On the other hand, he may not even be at Bolton next season or may think he can do better depending on how Bolton perform this season.

I don’t want him to go but if he does then every penny of the valuation in contract should be paid Our board should not back down don’t blink first. We are In the big boys league and should show we won’t be bullied and only sell people on our terms.Bolton can’t find anyone else of potential to go them with all their recent history and financial problems. We in the stronger position.Put up or shut up!

Lightflood wrote: Sun Jun 28, 2020 9:19 am The problem now is one of trust. We have a manager who has twice been approached by clubs in the same divisions and shown an interest in them. His agent and himself could have put a stop to it straight away if they had said go away, not interested.Where does that leave the Board and the club ? not in a great place I'd say, watching and waiting for the next club to appear on the horizon waving a cheque book under his nose. Things can't really be the same, inherently we have a manager who wants to go.
Cox and Casson were different in a way, relations were strained but once Hartlepool arrived on the scene there was only going to be one outcome as the trust between the two had gone for ever.
Or do we have a manager whose agent wants him to go? ;)
How can anyone especially Ian Evett know whether he wants to be the next Bolton Manager until he speaks to them and finds out what they're offering and on this occasion what the constraints of the embargo and financial situation of not just the club but FV.s and indeed the individual directors etc will be right now.

It's all right his agent meeting them and ringing IE and saying it's a great opportunity Ian lets do it after all his motivation is purely one of cash but what's to say when IE looks at it and sees what the embargo will mean and asks about the black hole in the finances caused by the pandemic he won't just say [SwearFilter] that for a game of soldiers.

So I think some of you need to learn the difference between him wanting to speak to them and definitely wanting to take the job and that's before you throw into the mix any demands that he might have such as not being willing to work with a director of football or whatever title this Tobias Pheonix character has he could well make demands of them that they're not willing to concede on.
