Matchday in L2, is it going to be much different

I’ve interviewed Josh granite a few times, interviewed John Rooney a couple of times too.

Problem I have is I don’t drive and have a job outside of the Radio as well so can only really do interviews of a match day.
By the time I’ve done my post match stuff the players have all headed off home so hard to grab them

The previous shop the club had in the town centre was gotten rid and brought inhouse of to save the club money on rates etc,etc.

Accrington's supporter's club have a shop in the market hall which they use as their base, selling their draw tickets, books, badges and memorabilia as well as taking coach bookings etc and provide certain services for the club like selling match tickets etc.

Maybe a similar arrangement might work as i.d be pretty sure the council will have some premises that they'd accept a minimum rent for.

guess manning it might be a problem as well

Doesn't seem to be a problem in Accrington its all done by volunteers mainly retired guys always a great place to go for a crack Some great tales some of them tell about when they were kicked out of the league and some great memorabilia to browse. The club also uses the same guys when they have things like cup tickets to sell and given the good work, a lot of the old guys do for you at the ground i.d say its a model you could replicate pretty easily.

The above reads like an old fashioned telegram but is astonishingly accurate. The 'shop in town' notion is harking back to another age like Papa Cass wanting his players to live in Barrow.

Most of us might not be as young as Wintergreen or PJ but a bit less of the “old guys” please

Well, I was going by the conversation on here a couple of nights ago about the volunteers being retired Vickers or British Aerospace retirees. No offence intended if that wasn't correct.

A lot of what Accrington have done in the league off the pitch is interesting- I've a mate there I go to Aberdeen games with. They've done a good job with fanzones and the like. It's a two way street, they copied our raffle idea.

But given the ground we have, there's much more point in looking at what they do then say...Fleetwood.

I'm delighted we are in League 2 of course, but having watched football at this level before when I lived in Carlisle decades ago, I can't say I'm that excited about visiting Walsall and Scunthorpe. Rather like all the ground regs, there will be a lot more rules enforced.

Do we have to get a scoreboard now for league football? I’ve asked previously but no reply my nephew keeps asking me honestly lol

I'd like to see one as maybe part of the projects it could be set up to be able to turn around to face the road after games and have adverts on for local businesses that pay for the pleasure would pay for itself over time

It's not like we play an Ebbsfleet or FCUM every week...

The biggest change we will notice will actually be at our own ground, no smoking and not moving freely around the different parts of the ground may catch a few out. Ground tickets will almost certainly be designated to an area and counted accordingly as part of controlling designated capacities.

As for a Scoreboard. Would love one, would sit nicely on the Crossbar, just under the corporate windows. One used around many grounds is by a company called LEDSynergy. The one at Barnet 5m x 1.5m- comes in around £15k, with all controlling software etc. A good advertising revenue stream. So if theres a fundraiser,.......I’m in for that.

The scoreboard may be something a sponsor could pay for as a way of free advertising for a set length of time. Think the Trust has enough to help out with at the moment. But yes needs Pursuing at some stage.

I've never been to a game where I've forgotten what the score was. There are far better things to spend money on than a scoreboard.
