That was my thinking. There was just something in Paul Hornby's tone which [SwearFilter] the ears. Everyone saying ahh, but Clough is up for the Birmingham City job. He's 4th in the odds at 8/1 behind Fowler, Bowyer and Carsley. The thing that I counter my own argument with is his location. Could he realistically do the job from somewhere near Burton-on-Trent?
But if there's one club I've always looked at and thought 'that's how we should be', it's Burton Albion.

Said before. Really cant see it been Clough.
He parted ways with his backroom staff at Burton due to high costs.
The lad wont come cheap and probably far too much for us..

The BoD I trust, trying to recruit a carbon copy of IE is not going to work, each guy has they’re own SoPs, We should not be judging the new man against IE.

If that's where he lives, Nigel, it's a marginally shorter journey than that from Chesterfield where the previous manager was said to live.

Burton to Holker St is 161 miles. Chesterfield to Holker St is 146 miles. Journey times by car are similar.

I’ll be honest with you, with Evatt at the helm, his targeted players and with the momentum, I think he would have expected to be pushing for top 7. Are we still aspiring to that with the new manager, because we should be. Evatt is certainly talking that language at Bolton, emborgoes or not.

TBH im not too sure who I'd want to get the job. I'll back anyone as long as we get a good team together and play some great football! Lets just hope who ever gets the job has a list of players and we can get them on board asap before other teams snap them up first. Once the season had stopped for us and the EFL, we had scored more goals than anyone in EFL2 (although a slightly higher standard) and we've kept them players so we do have the firepower to do well its just the rest of the squad and how the new manager wants the team to play

Watched Sol Campbell managing Macclesfield versus FGR. He presented himself as an all round decent and polite guy, even in defeat.

I am sure it would be a ticket on his management CV by using the current Barrow team... if he accepted the position. Great advert for you as an ex top flight player at only 45.

Could be management experience gained, takes it a further leap forward.

Lee Bowyers getting the Brummie job so don’t worry about that one. I’d say if you’re looking at current job openings from Cloughs POV, we are the most similar challenge to that of Burton
