Worrying in a sense that unlike Evatt he does not sound hungry to succed,plus I think he has other business interests
Evatt was deemed not good enough for the Chesterfield job he was driven by the fact he wanted to show them what they had missed.
He has jumped ship and is in progress of signing a top striker for Bolton onward and upwards.
Dunn is deciding if to take the job ,either way we will back whoever is the Manager

1st job and he started the season as a player with the club and got pushed into managing a team where no one is getting paid and losing all the time. No support from the board, having to pay for things out of his own pocket. Sounds f'ing awful!

From watching that interview it’s obvious that the lack of support was why he failed at Oldham, wonder what he could do with a BoD that would be willing to give him the backing he deserves. I bet he will be desperate to right a few wrongs

When League 2 does start, financial management will be just as crucial as application on the field of play. I think we will be well served on both fronts from what I have seen this year. What a time to be alive!

That's my main worry as well that football isn't all that drives him with his property interests.

Lets see who he brings in as coaches first and give him a chance might turn out to be a perfect fit.

I read somewhere that he was Platts agent for a bit might help us get him back at the club.

'other business interests' don't really worry me, if he is decent then there's plenty of money to be made being a football manager and clearly that's his main goal as he's spent his life in football.

If it is Dunn, (or whoever else for that matter) the question for the board to consider is will he have the single minded dedication , drive and determination to succeed ? It seems that he (Dunn) will have the knowledge and experience but that only gets you so far. Hope he does. Time will tell i suppose.

Having followed Dunny’s career from the start he was very much one of the boys, he was a prankster in the Rovers dressing room and loved to wind up the Burnley fans in local paper interviews before derby games - they absolutely HATE him. This is is how he would be different from IE who as has been said before, had the fear factor.
Still a big name and does have plenty of contacts in the NW too.

If its Dunn then lets hope he brings a good no2 with him. We need this sorting ASAP because if you look at some other club sites they are sorting out their squads. Bolton and "he who shall not be named" have already enquired about Swindons top goal scorer whos a free agent and a Blackpool midfielder. I just think we are a bit behind other clubs atm and we need to start recruiting....

Think one of the noticeable thing about last season we recruited early.a basic thing.
How many times in non league were we still recruiting after pre season friendly and never had a settled team for the season starting.

Watching the transfer activity thus far its been quite interesting. In fact its been very quiet on the transfer front. Where there has been quite a bit of activity is in the area of contract extensions. This may be a sign of the current times with clubs content to tie players down to a reasonably priced extension rather than discard them and look for replacements. Better the devil you know.

I do think that the current crisis will act as a leveller when it comes to comparing squads and that players that might otherwise find themselves on their bike might stick around as long as they are prepared to be reasonable with extensions. In that respect to have retained 10-11 players and to have done this so early remains a positive. Its more what's going through their minds that will be the issue and I think that's why a managerial appointment needs to be made asap.

Kelly currently supporting Uwe Rossler at Dusseldorf. Looks like a time served assistant manager. Link with Dunn via the Blackburn Academy. On paper looks like he might compliment Dunn very well. This has a good feel about it if true.

Very interesting. Quite a pedigree there. Lots of experience, lots of contacts, he could be the perfect foil to the managerially inexperienced Dunn.

Fatty Dunn is more of a figure of fun to Burnley fans, especially as he apparently used to support them as a lad. Hate? Now that would be Simon Garner. Unfortunately if it is Dunn, I'm not convinced he is the man to take Barrow into the league after 48 years, a huge, huge risk to take. Where has it come from, if he is the man the BOD immediately identified, you have to ask why, what made him the standout candidate and why has no one else seemingly been interested in him?

Hope, however, springs eternal and perhaps he'll be the new messiah, who knows.
